Fresno, Protests, Progress and You

On the heels of two successful community gatherings, you may be wondering what’s next for Fresno in regards to anti-racism, police policy and how to stay informed on local issues.

  • You can follow the Fresno State NAACP on Facebook here to stay informed and up to date on future events.

  • You can view the list of the demands made during the protest in relation to local law enforcement and policy here.

  • You can follow updates from the City of Fresno Police Department here.

  • Local members of the police department, city leaders and pastors from churches across town have been gathering to work together toward peace, justice, and protection. You can view CBS 47 and KSEE 24’s story on this here.

If you would like to know more about the peaceful protests in Fresno and/or get a list of black owned businesses that you can support, click the pic above!

Home improvement projects have become a pastime for many of us in the last few months. Not only do you have the instant gratification of seeing the results of your hard work, did you know you also improve the value of your home? In this week’s Home Improvement Highlight, we introduce Sago Max! Sago Max is a local landscaping and tree service company, owned by Max Soler that serves the Central Valley. Max specializes in trimming and beautifying Sago palm trees. Check out his website by clicking the “before” pic above and click the “Maxed out” pic to see more of his work!

There is a lot going on in the world right now. It is easy to let the stress take over and fall into unhealthy habits. Don’t! Instead, go check out this week’s Hot & Happening- we have TONS of ways to stay busy this weekend. We partnered with Tower Yoga and shared an all-levels yoga workout. Did you know Kings Canyon and Sequoia Nat’l parks reopen this weekend? We rundown our favorite hiking trails from both. Guess what else is reopening? Wineries and Breweries! For those who are 21+ and ready to get out- we have a list of local events where you can support local and enjoy the cool down expected this weekend.

We did a(nother) thing! FresYes and AR Workshop Fresno collaborated to our community through art. These beautiful, hand-painted custom signs can be found at our FresYes Market inside of FresYes. There are so many different designs and colors to choose from. You can even paint your own sign with a take-home DIY kit. Shoot us a DM on IG (@fresyes) to order. Large signs/kits are $40 and small signs/kits are $29.50.

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Fresno? I say FresYES

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
