Perfect pairings are at the center of Amelia and Jeff Bennett’s plan to bring artisan ice cream to Fresno. Which is not surprising, coming from a married couple very much in love. In love with each other, and in love with ice cream.
That’s why they’ve named their ice-cream-shop-to-be Ampersand, after the symbol that has brought together such iconic duos as peanut butter & jelly, Abbott & Costello, yin & yang. Amelia and Jeff hope the Fresno community will be the ideal match for their handcrafted, locally-sourced ice cream that comes in flavors like berry basil, whiskey caramel swirl and bananas Foster.
The opening of the shop (which is planned for April if a Kickstarter campaign currently ongoing gets fully funded) will see things come full circle for the couple whose first date included both ice cream and talk of one day opening a business together.
