The New Old Town Clovis Spot That’s a Café, Market, and Movement Studio in One

There’s a new business in Old Town Clovis that’s a unique concept for our area – Nourish. Nourish is essentially three businesses in one, with a single purpose: helping people care for themselves. It’s a café, market, and movement studio all in one space, with a sprawling, comfortable patio as well as indoor seating, in an environment meant to make you want to pull up a seat, take a deep breath, and stay awhile.

A friend and I made our first trip to Nourish this past weekend, and I was sure to snap quite a few photos so I could share with you all how cool and unique a place it is. You enter through their peaceful patio, which is currently decorated for fall with pumpkins and comfortable seating all around. Pretty umbrellas offer welcome shade, which is great as we continue to contend with lingering summer heat.

Once you step inside the café, you’ll see freshly baked sourdough bread on display to your right, and a refrigerated case filled with beautifully prepared sandwiches, salads, yogurt cups and bowls, and a variety of cold meal options packaged to grab and go, or enjoy there. Everything sold at Nourish is free of artificial dyes, artificial flavorings, and seed oils, so you can shop and snack without playing detective with ingredient labels.

As you make your way toward the register, you’ll see a case of gorgeous pastries. (I couldn’t resist grabbing a City Bun, a stunning braided roll made from croissant dough and coated with cinnamon and sugar.) We visited on a Friday evening, so I suspect the pastry case is even fuller and more impressive in the mornings.

Past the register is the Hapa California Coffee counter, where you can order delicious coffee, tea, or matcha. They currently have a featured autumn drink menu, and their pumpkin latte is exceptionally good.

Beyond the coffee counter, fridge and freezer cases mark the start of the market section, where you’ll find farm-fresh local eggs, vegetables, tomatoes, and herbs. There’s also gourmet ice cream – I’m so sad I wasn’t headed straight home to my freezer, as I definitely would have grabbed a pint! Next up is an entire end cap of local honey in beautiful jars and bottles. So many honey choices, you won’t “bee”lieve your eyes!

Just beyond the honey is an area devoted to hygge living, with cozy games, books, gifts, and recipe books, followed by natural and organic skin care, beauty, and home goods. In the front corner of the market, you’ll find potted plants and a flower bar where you can pick up fresh flowers to enjoy at home or gift to someone special.

Just past the market is the adjoining movement studio, where Nourish regularly offers strength, yoga, pilates, kettlebell, sculpt, and cupping classes. You can sign up for a class through their website.

I love that Nourish is focused on making taking care of yourself feel easy and enjoyable. You can sweat it out in a class, grab a coffee and a pastry, pick up groceries and flowers for the week, and linger on the patio with a friend, all in one place. I’m already planning a return visit (this time in the morning, to see that pastry case at its best), so if you spot me on the patio with a pumpkin latte, come say hi!

Nourish is located at 520 Pollasky Ave in Old Town Clovis. They are open Sunday through Wednesday from 7am to 4pm and Thursday through Saturday from 7am to 8pm.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
