There are cool things happening all week long in the Fresno area. Any day of the week, you’re sure to find something fun going on.

Monday

Paint and Sip is happening Monday night at Pinot’s Palette.

• Make Your Own Glass Heart

Where: Ballis Glass, 2888 N Sunnyside #104, Fresno 
When: Noon to 8 p.m. Monday
What: With Valentines Day ahead, it’s time to create a beautiful glass heart. Make it for yourself or give as that perfect one-of-a-kind gift. This class includes everything you’ll need to design that one of a kind glass heart. You get to choose your own colors, add them to molten glass and then sculpt it into a heart.
Details: Great for ages 6+. Each class is one hour long and has seats for 6 people so make it a family event. Closed toe shoes required, light cotton clothing preferred. Light refreshments will be provided. [More]

• Yu-Gi-Oh Tournament

When: 5:30 p.m. Monday
What: Registration starts at 5:30 p.m., start time is 6 p.m.

When: 6 p.m. Monday
What: Modern music, casual attire. It’s not your grandma’s square dance. This is contemporary. Lots of fun and great exercise. No partner required.

• Raphio Chocolate Micro Factory Tour 

Where: Raphio Chocolate, 783 E. Barstow Ave. #G, Fresno 
When: 6:30 p.m. Monday
What: Experience how chocolate is made in a private guided tour where you will touch the cacao beans, smell the nibs, taste the chocolate from stone grinders, see the aged chocolate blocks and sample various single origin chocolate bars.

• Intro to your Nikon DSLR Camera

Where: Horn Photo, 7899 N. Blackstone Ave., Fresno
When: 7 p.m. Monday
What: By the time you leave this class, you’ll know the difference between an f-stop and a bus stop; 
you’ll learn how all of the different Nikon scene modes work; you’ll learn how interchangeable lenses work and how to use which lens for specific purposes; you’ll learn about photography composition. Ultimately, you’ll learn how to take better pictures with your Nikon DSLR camera.

What: Dustin David is an award-winning stand up comedian. He toured the country doing stand up with The Insiders of Comedy before moving to Los Angeles. He is currently working on releasing his first comedy album.

I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.
