Part of what makes weddings so special is being able to share your love and excitement with the important people in your life. But weddings are expensive, so not everyone makes the guest list. And due to travel and outstanding circumstances, it’s likely some people can’t attend.

Enter HashtagiDo, a local wedding service aimed at helping everyone you care about be part of your special day through social media and through the help of themarketingheaven.com.

Social Media: Not Just For Selfies

Social media is super important to Christine Brown, the mastermind behind the business. Her day job as a broadcast news producer at ABC30 has made her a pro when it comes to using different social platforms.

When Brown got married in 2014, she used social media to share elements of her wedding with family and friends who were unable to attend. A friend live-streamed the ceremony, and another updated Facebook and Twitter.

“There were so many people I wish I could have invited,” Brown says. “Having my feeds updated was my way of allowing them to feel like they were somehow part of my big day.”

It wasn’t until a year after her wedding that Brown realized she could offer a social media service to help other couples share their experience. That’s when she launched HashtagiDo.

“I love weddings,” Brown says. “Being able to be a part of so many couples’ celebrations has been enlightening, especially knowing the service I’m providing for them is adding some sparkle to their big day.”

The groom at the first wedding HashtagiDo worked on had family in Vietnam. Brown was able to live-stream the ceremony so they could watch and participate thousands of miles away.

In addition to offering live-streams of entire ceremonies and key parts of receptions, HashtagiDo keeps people updated on all of the wedding fun by posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat on the couple’s behalf.

Put down that phone! HashtagiDo does the posting so guests can enjoy the special day.

Brown meets with the couples beforehand to create the plan of attack, which usually includes creating a custom hashtag. For her own wedding, she used #broritowedding—a mix of the groom’s last name, Brown, and her maiden name, Perito.

HastagiDo will even create a custom Snapchat Geofilter for guests to use at the event.

To learn more about how HashtagiDo can help bring your wedding to faraway guests, visit their website HashtagiDo.com, or find them on Facebook and Twitter.

Free Bridal Workshop Planned

If you are engaged and interested in learning more about HastagiDo, a free bridal workshop is taking place Sunday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bitwise South Stadium in downtown Fresno.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
