Colton's Social House: A Clovis Go-To for Consistently Excellent Food and Service

There are restaurants you visit once just to try them, and then there are the restaurants that become part of your regular rotation—the places you recommend to friends without hesitation because you know they’ll deliver every single time. For me, Colton’s Social House in Clovis is firmly in that second category. It’s one of my absolute go-tos, and if you haven’t been yet, you are missing out on some of the best contemporary comfort food in the Central Valley.

Located right in front of the Sierra Vista Mall at 1150 Shaw Avenue, Colton’s has built a reputation on what they call “Social Therapy”—a philosophy of bringing people together over incredible food and drinks. It’s a mission they take seriously, and it shows. The service here is consistently excellent. I’ve never had a bad meal, and a big part of that comes down to the leadership. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the owners, and they are wonderful people who take an immense amount of pride in the quality of their food, their drinks, and their service. That kind of passion trickles down to every aspect of the dining experience.

Speaking of the food, the menu is a masterclass in elevated comfort food. They use locally sourced produce and hand-packed Angus beef for their burgers, and you can taste the difference. During my last visit with my son, we decided to go all out, and the food did not disappoint.

If you’re looking for a burger that will change your life, you have to try their creations. We had this absolute masterpiece: a perfectly cooked patty on a soft, toasted brioche bun, topped with thick-cut bacon and a generous layer of creamy, gooey mac and cheese. It’s the kind of burger that requires extra napkins and total commitment, and it is worth every single calorie. Served alongside their crispy, perfectly seasoned fries and that incredible pink dipping sauce, it’s a meal that hits all the right notes.

We also dug into a sandwich that was bursting with tender, slow-cooked pulled meat—again, paired with that decadent mac and cheese right inside the bun. The combination of savory, smoky meat and rich cheese is unbelievable.

And you cannot visit Colton’s without ordering their wings. The ones we had were tossed in a bold, spicy sauce, garnished with fresh herbs, and served with a cool ranch for dipping. They were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor.

It’s no surprise that Colton’s has been voted Best All-Around Restaurant five years running, along with taking home awards for their outdoor dining, burgers, and specialty cocktails. They also boast an impressive selection of craft beers and affordable wines, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day or catch up with friends on the weekend.

Colton’s Social House is open seven days a week from 11 AM to midnight, giving you plenty of opportunities to experience their unique brand of Social Therapy. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch, a family dinner, or late-night drinks on the patio, you’re guaranteed a great time.

Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!)
