One of Fresno’s tastiest events returns to the Fresno Convention Center this Thursday, July 26. The 8th annual Fresno Food Expo will showcase more than 140 California food and beverage brands, and the public is invited to attend the evening event, called Expolicious.

Expolicious lets public sample California-made products

This year, the Fresno Food Expo has expanded to include food and beverage brands from outside of the Central Valley. The Expo’s goal is to connect exhibitors to retailers and food service buyers.

The daytime business-to-business portion of the Expo is closed to the public. This is when exhibitors get to meet and greet representatives from grocery store and food service companies. California Secretary of Food and Agriculture, Karen Ross, will give a keynote address.

The evening’s public event, Expolicious, is designed for Valley residents to see, taste, and experience the wide variety of food and beverage products grown and manufactured in our Golden State.

New local products will debut at Expolicious

Exhibitors like Ampersand Ice Cream will be sampling their Ricotta and Sweet Corn Ice Cream. Bobby Salazar’s Mexican Foods will showcase their new Salsa Roja-Hot. Enzo’s Table will debut their Almond Butter, and Lanna Coffee Co. will feature their new Honey Cold Brew.

Businesses like Fowler’s Simonian Fruit Company have been participating in the Fresno Food Expo since it launched in 2011.

“We feel the Fresno Food Expo is a great place to showcase our company,” says Jeff Simonian, President of Simonian Fruit Company. “We’ve been in the Central Valley since 1960, so we take pride in where we are located and what it means to be producing food in this area.”

This year, Simonian Fruit Company has submitted their new SIMCO Hot Pepper Jelly into the Expo’s Consumer Choice and New Product Award competitions. The jelly is made of summer time pepper and jalapeños. The public will be able to taste the new flavor along with Simonian’s other fruit-flavored jams and jellies.

How to get tickets to Expolicious

Tickets to Expolicious are $50 and can be purchased at FresnoFoodExpo.com until 3 p.m. Thursday. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the Convention Center will-call window on M Street.

In addition to sampling the foods and drinks on the exhibit floor, event-goers will be able to sample hand crafted hors d’oeuvres from restaurants like The Annex Kitchen, The Elbow Room, and Max’s Bistro & Bar. Food Network TV personality Simon Majumdar will also be on hand to taste what the chefs cook up.

It’s sure to be a fun night!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
