What’s Hot & Happening December 29 -31

By FresYes Writing Team

Welcome to the last H&H of the 2023 year! We’re so glad to have had you along for the ride! And what a ride it was! It was like a rollercoaster made of curveballs and confetti bombs, equal parts “oof” and “whoa!”. We wrangled remote jobs, dodged market meltdowns, and redefined or perhaps realigned, what we think FresYes is. But you know what? We also smashed our goals, found new strengths, and discovered communities that felt more like family than Facebook or IG ever could.

So, as 2024 peeks around the corner like a curious puppy, let’s not dwell on the bumps in the road. Let’s grab that fresh canvas called a “new year” and paint it with audacious dreams, wild adventures, and maybe even a sprinkle of glitter (because, y’know, why not?). Maybe we’ll cure cancer, maybe we’ll finally master sourdough bread, maybe we’ll just learn to say “no” more often. Whatever it is, let’s do it with open hearts, helping hands, and a healthy dose of “let’s see what happens!”.

So, cheers to the unknown, the untamed, the year that whispers possibilities like secrets in the wind. Let’s rock this one, team. Happy New Year!

We’re going to focus about Sunday just because everything pales in comparison. We also know that not everyone is big on getting all dressed up, braving the crowds and staying up late but we have covered all the bases. Really.

We should start with Natali’s post yesterday, “5 Fun, Fresno Ways to Ring in the New Year“. She starts with a Women’s PJ Party and Pub Crawl that runs in the Tower District from 6 – 9. You can get more details at HERE.

For the romantics, she suggests Ducey’s on the Lake (That would be Bass Lake). Dinner, Dancing. What more could you ask for? How about Fireworks? They have that too. Get tickets HERE.

For the geek in all of us she found a magical Wands and Wizards New Year’s Bash. You guessed it – Harry Potter! This brought to you by Fresno’s Underground Suppers and Chef Robert Snyder, Keeper of the Cauldron, has crafted a delicious and delectable plated menu paying homage to the world famous wizards and their academy.

For the kids she found a Super Mario Bros themed NYE Skate party at United Skates of America. The night includes skating, skate rental, pizza, party favors, character visits, photo ops, and a balloon drop at mock-midnight! Mock? it runs from 5-7:30 pm. Tickets are HERE.

For the more adventurous, she recommends Howling Wolf bar and their Masquerade Party. Awesome drinks, great atmosphere, great music and light bites will all be available for your enjoyment. Outside food is welcome as well. Tickets are HERE.

We found another Masquerade Ball at The Rosé (820 Van Ness). Tickets for this one are HERE.

Grab the whole family and play Laser Tag! No Surrender is hosting an NYE party. It’s not all pew pew. They’ll have a Confetti Celebration, Party Favors, Apple Cider Champagne Toast and plenty of Party Music. Get Tickets HERE.

In for some Comedy? Comedy legend and Emmy® Award-winning actor, Katt Williams, performs this New Year’s Eve in Fresno as part of THE DARK MATTER TOUR. Katt will ring in the new year at Save Mart Center, with a night of unparalleled comedy that breaks through boundaries and challenges the status quo. Get tickets HERE.

Or… Danny Minch is headlining at Di Cicco’s Italian Restaurant. Also on the bill is David Glass and Tom Smith! Tickets for this are HERE.

Ring in the New Year with vibrant dances, rich traditions, and joyful moments at the Central Valley New Year Pow Wow! Gather to celebrate unity and culture. The event is free.

The Fresno Hmong New Year is at the fairgrounds – which is a multi day event that started on Thursday and runs all the way to Sunday. Tickets are available HERE.

Tioga-Sequoia Beer Garden is hosting a Brew Years Eve Party! It’s downtown at the Beer Garden and 8-12am, count down to 2024 with us! We’ve got DJ Native Earthian, food trucks, and plenty of TS beer to keep you going til midnight!

Fulton 55 will rock Bright Lights til the lights come on at 1:45am. Expect House, Techno, Trance & Breaks. Sprinkled with some classics. Tickets are HERE. Wait, what?

Stummers will have their Decades Party! 70s vs 80s vs 90s vs 2000s Bangers as you would expect. There’s a few great places to get your dance moves on.

That is sure a lot of parties and we’re sure that one of them is the right party for you. No? That why we absolutely LOVE Natali’s bonus suggestion. Host a “TJ’s and PJ’s” Night In! She says, “why not host a TJ’s and PJ’s night? Everyone brings a favorite Trader Joe’s snack and wears their pajamas. Add in some group games like Hues and Cues, Telestrations Party Pack, or Tapple for a cozy, fun-filled evening!” and we couldn’t agree more! As for snacks, we love their Mac & Cheese Bites in the frozen section. Combine that with the Mushroom & Black Truffle Flatbread while sipping a little Prosecco and/or Pontificis (it’s a blend of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre) and it’s guaranteed to be a night to remember!

2512 E Paul Ave, Fresno, CA 937104 Bed | 2 Bath | 1,951 Sq. Ft.$495,000Open Dec 31, 2023 1 – 4 PM

Location! Location! This home is located off of Maple and Herndon, in between Clovis and Fresno. This neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The home features 4 bedrooms (all nice sized), 2 baths and 2 living areas. The screened in front patio is a plus. With almost 2000 sq ft of living area your family will have plenty of room. Storage in this home is great, linen closets and large closets. Home also has a whole house fan. The pool is an awesome feature for this home, backyard covered and uncovered patio. At the side in the backyard, is a potential dog run.

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
