What’s Hot & Happening July 14 – 16

By FresYes Writing Team

Hold onto your hats, folks, because a horrendous, hazy, and hellish heat wave is hurling itself towards us! Heating the air to unbearable heights. Hectic temperatures will hover over the horizon, heralding a hazardous environment. Hide in the shade if you can, for this heat wave will hit hard, leaving no respite. Homes will become heated havens, with air conditioning humming harmoniously. Hydration will be crucial; hydrate with heaps of water and help your body handle the heat. Heatstroke becomes a haunting hazard, so heed the advice and take heed of the warnings. Hold tight, for the heavy, and hostile weather is heading our way, heralding a challenging heat wave ahead.

That’s about all the “H” words we could muster up in a single paragraph. We’re certainly putting the HOT into Hot & Happening this weekend!

FRIDAY: Always Adele

With an astounding accomplishment of over 70 million in pure album sales and exceeding 100 million in album equivalent units worldwide across four studio albums and one video album as of December 2021, Adele has established herself as a musical powerhouse.

She has earned the title of the best-selling album artist of the 2010s decade both in the United States and globally. Although witnessing Adele’s live performance may seem improbable in the near future, fear not! The sensational alternative awaits you: ALWAYS, ADELE! is playing this Friday Night at The Tower.

Sorry, Obligatory Pool Break…

Ok, we’re back…

ALWAYS, ADELE stands as Los Angeles’ premier tribute to the incomparable pop icon, Adele. This exceptional 7-piece band comprises virtuoso musicians, led by the commanding vocals of Sarah Stallman. Together, they not only recreate Adele’s awe-inspiring melodies but also embody the down-to-earth essence that defines her artistry. With captivating renditions of beloved hits like Hello, Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, and an array of other favorites, this remarkable show will undoubtedly have you passionately belting out every lyric, singing your heart out!

Plus it’s air conditioned! Check out her promo video at https://vimeo.com/796482369

SATURDAY: The Kingsburg Watermelon Festival

Did you know that the annual Watermelon Festival began on August 5, 1937 and ran for at least 55 years over a 63 year period. Based on articles in the Kingsburg Recorder and the Selma Enterprise, it appears the 55th Annual Kingsburg Watermelon Festival was on July 28, 2000. See THIS POST.

We didn’t either, but we’re also happy to say that it’s back! We don’t know much but we do know that it’s this Saturday from 4 PM to 9 Pm. Come enjoy a nice summer evening with some cool free watermelon, food trucks, craft vendors, carnival games for the kids, obstacle course, hat bar, face painter and more!! Memorial Park by the high school.

Memorial Park is at 1900 16th Ave, Kingsburg, CA 93631

Oh yeah, if it’s Saturday, that means that you can take our FresYes Quiz. It’s a few simple questions about what we covered this last week and if you get half right we’ll throw your name in the hat for a freebie! No hurry though. You have until Monday to take it! How cool is that?

SUNDAY:

With it being the hottest day of the week – some are saying 114 degrees – we can’t do anything but suggest you stay indoors, stay cool, stay hydrated. If you are bored you can always fry an egg on the sidewalk and if you do we want to see a picture or video of it! Tag us on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/fresyes/)

If you need more ideas, read “Great Indoor Activities with the Family“. It has quite a few great things to do.

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
