Jason Farris, owner/broker of FresYes (me!) announces a partnership in Synergy Fitness Center with the owner, Walt Gonzales.
Here’s a little bit about why this partnership means so much to me:
Have you ever felt uncomfortable in your own skin? Have you felt what it’s like to not fit in?
How about literally not fitting in every day seats, like a roller-coaster seat with your brimming happy son, who just wants his dad to get on the ride with him?
How about not fitting in a chair at a listing appointment? Talk about uncomfotrable.
For me, this was the last time I allowed myself not to fit.
It was at a time in my life when I was simply crushing it in real estate, but behind the scenes, I was embarrassed, unhealthy and lethargic. I weighed in at 365 pounds.
During the heaviest time in my life, I was at one of my many listing appointments when I was forced to sit in a chair that I just knew I wouldn’t fit in. (Not to mention, this old chair looked very
Feeling uncomfotrable was becoming so tiring, but I had to sit down, so I held my breath and took a seat. I balanced my weight with expert grace and sat through the appointment – barely breathing, and uncharacteristically, quiet.
As I returned to my office, wiping the sweat off and feeling relieved I did not break my new client’s old, unsturdy chair, I got the email that would change everything.
You see, it was sent to me by accident from the woman from my listing appointment, it read:
“He is a really nice young man but very fat and overweight. This concerns me because if he can’t be disciplined enough to take care of himself, how can I trust him to take care of the sale of my home?”
I was heartbroken by what I read. I had really connected with this person the day we met and although I know she didn’t write the email with the intention of hurting me, it did.
That was the day I decided I would never feel that way again.
I was ready to transform my life, but I needed help. As I strived to be my most exceptional version of myself, I started going to the gym.
Later in my journey, I REALLY started to see changes when I partnered with a trainer, Walt Gonzales, who many consider Fresno’s best.
I decided that every single day I would show up and do the work. In fact, I told him:
“I will be here every single day at 4:30 am, but the day you don’t show up, neither will I.”
To this day, over two years into my journey, neither of us have canceled on each other. Today, I’m proud to announce we’re showing up for each other, and you in a new way. (If you need someone to help you get up in the morning, check out my new program, the Daily Wake Up Call.)
We firmly believe life-changing transformations are available to all of us, but not without commitment, and not without others to lift us up. Transformations DO NOT happen in isolation.
That’s why I’m proud to announce my partnership in ownership of Synergy Fitness Center in Fresno, California with Fresno’s Most Elite Trainer, Walt Gonzales.
If I had to describe Walt and I’s partnership in one word, I would actually use the word Synergy. There are elements of the business Walt is exceptional at that I am not, where he lacks, I am strong.
Walt was born and raised in Fresno, California, so he also feels the passion I do for the community we live in. We also share our admiration for the support of our local economy’s small businesses.
With his degree from Fresno State in Kinesiology, Walt began his fitness career with a job at Bally Total Fitness Gym as a Personal Trainer. His passion continued to grow in improving clients quality of life. This drive and passion are what grew into the unique fitness center that is Synergy.
