It usually starts with preventable issues: clogged drains, backed-up gutters, or loose outdoor items that get pushed around once the rain and wind pick up.

If you’ve got a few minutes, take a quick lap around your place. Clear anything that could block drains, secure loose outdoor items, and make sure gutters aren’t doing their best waterfall impression. Rain has a funny way of finding the one weak spot you’ve been ignoring.
🚗 Slow it down
Driving this week? Give yourself extra time. Flooded intersections can show up fast, and no errand is worth testing how deep that water really is. If it looks sketchy, trust your gut and turn around.

This is also a good moment for the basics: charge your phone, know where the flashlight lives, and keep a blanket nearby just in case. Nothing dramatic, just smart.
