As a former dance kiddo myself, I am happy to hear of the opening of a new, local place for people of all ages to learn to dance and enjoy the discipline, flexibility, exercise and camaraderie that comes along with the art.
Fergie’s Freestyle Dance Studio is a new, Fresno-based studio offering beginning through advanced level Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Freestyle Dance Movement, Lyrical and Line Dance classes for toddlers to adults and seniors, and its opening next weekend, February 26th and 27th!
To celebrate its opening and welcome new students, the studio will be hosting two “Free Days of Dance”, allowing prospective students to try classes at no cost! Spring class sessions will officially begin March 5th and After School Dance Workshops will be offered as well, beginning March 7th. Those who register on site during the opening weekend/FREE days (Feb. 26-27) will also receive a gift bag.
“I was introduced to dance by my Mother and developed a love for the craft and the icons of the field at a very young age,” said Evette Fergerson, Founder & Creative Director of Fergie’s Freestyle Dance Studio. “I was very shy growing up and dance helped me come out of my shell and creatively express myself. As I look back, dance helped me in many areas of life. I excelled in school, I gained more confidence and was motivated to do better and it all started with dance. I want to help other young people find their voice and express themselves freely, just as I did through dance.”
Now, as an adult who’s worked with top entertainers and recently moved to the area from Southern California, Fergerson is thrilled to share her passion and experience with the community, and we at FresYes are happy to welcome her and her enthusiasm for youth and positive expression through dance to the Valley. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in dance or just looking to have a great time, Ferguson says you won’t be disappointed in attending classes through her studio.
