Scott Dille entered the Clovis Unified School District as a third grader at Nelson Elementary School and, with the exception of college, never left. A graduate of Kastner Intermediate and Clovis West High School, Dille would go back to his high school alma mater to teach and coach, before moving on to jobs at Clovis High, Clovis East, and Gettysburg Elementary School. He’s currently principal of the Clovis North Educational Complex, which includes a high school of the same name and Granite Ridge Intermediate.
With students in grades 7 through 12 being guided by a common administration, Clovis North is unique among the Clovis high schools. For instance, seventh grade students are assigned a counselor that will stay with them through their senior year, helping ease the transition to high school and better track a students progress.
At a glance, Clovis North High School is made up of 2,100 students in grades 9-12. The complex as a whole has nearly 4,000. Dille calls it a small city. Despite only being open for eight years, Clovis North has already proven itself academically, athletically and through its academic teams and performing arts programs. The high school’s robotics team has received a lot of attention lately, not just for its engineering prowess, but also its innovative fundraising.
