For a lot of reasons today has been pretty darn exciting. We have listed some great new homes, received offers on others, and learned that our plans for our office have nearly been approved by the owner of the building, more on that soon.
What was different today than any other day was the volume of calls we received at around 2pm. **** Fast Forward**** It’s Monday and all is right in the world of real estate and Zestimates again. What happened? A computer glitch or bug or something created some problems for the good folks over at Zillow and properties were showing up for sale at 50% less than their estimated value computed by Zillow (what they refer to as a Zestimate and the rest of us call a automated valuation). To credit Zillow here, they worked diligently over the weekend and have resolved all the issues that I can see. I had recorded a video that explained all this in more detail but I took it down to keep the tin foil hats from surfacing anymore than they had.
The big take a ways are these two truths you should always remember when buying and selling real estate:
1. If it is too good to be true it probably is – proceed with caution
