What’s Hot & Happening April 28 – 30

By FresYes Writing Team

Barrel Racing at the 109th Clovis Rodeo!

Well howdy y’all, let me tell you ’bout the joy of the Clovis Rodeo. There ain’t nothin’ like the sound of them boots hittin’ the dirt as cowboys and cowgirls alike take to the ring, each one tryin’ to outdo the other with their bronc bustin’, bull ridin’ and barrel racin’ skills.

And it ain’t just the action in the ring that brings about that sense of nostalgia. It’s the whole darned experience. The smell of fresh hay, the sound of country music playin’ in the background, the taste of cotton candy and corn dogs, and the sight of families comin’ together to watch the show.

Folks been gatherin’ at the Clovis Rodeo for generations, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a celebration of the western way of life, of hard workin’ folks who ain’t afraid to get a little dirt on their boots. And even though times may be changin’, there’s still somethin’ special ’bout seein’ a cowboy ride a bull or a cowgirl tearin’ up the barrel racin’ course.

After a full day of dust, head on over to our friends at Tap & Cellar, belly up to the bar and lasso one of these little doggies. It’s an IPA from Alvarado Street Brewery. 6% ABV and 70 IBU.

The goal of Alvarado Pool Service is to remove any excess debris on your palate caused by milk sugar, fruit bits, hop burn, excessive trub and the residual effects of extreme flavor overload. This is achieved with a sound approach to bitterness, a lean malt profile and a precise application of abundantly punchy, lupulin-laced, Mosaic & Citra cryo.

Yup! You guessed it – It’s time for the Clovis Rodeo!

Always held the last full weekend in April, this 109th Edition of the Clovis Rodeo is your chance to experience western culture.  More than 50,000 fans, 550 cowboys, 50 mutton busters, 70 cowgirls, 746 animal athletes, 8,500 pounds of tri-tip and 700 volunteers make it one of the most popular events in Fresno County!

As you probably know, the rodeo started on Wednesday Night with PBR Bull Riding. Thursday was Night one of the PRCA Rodeo which included Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Womens Breakaway Roping, Saddle Bronc, Mutton Bustin’, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding!

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
