Can you believe it’s almost May already? It feels like we blinked, and Spring disappeared. And with the temperatures reaching 98 degrees today, it’s clear that summer is just around the corner. If you’re lucky enough to have a pool, today might be the perfect day to take a dip. For the rest of us, let’s crank up the AC and try to stay cool. |

As we approach the last full weekend of April, it’s time for one of our favorite local traditions – the Clovis Rodeo! More than 50,000 fans will gather this weekend to cheer on the cowboys, cowgirls, and animal athletes. If you’ve never experienced the excitement of the rodeo, this is the year to do it. Bring a hat, order a tri-tip sandwich, and enjoy the show. It’s an event that brings out the kid in all of us. |

While I’ll stay local this weekend, my daughter is down south at the Stagecoach Festival, enjoying country music and BBQ. If you or someone you know is headed down that way, let me know. It sounds like a fun weekend activity that we may need to add to our calendars next year. |

Pondering a perfect pour, I peruse the pub’s plethora of pints, pausing to pick a particularly pleasing brew. The pungent aroma of hops permeates the air as the bartender pulls me a pint. With a playful plop, the pint is presented to me, its perfectly proportioned body promising a palatable potable. I take a tentative sip, and am pleased to find the flavor pleasantly potent.
