Recently, we celebrated my husband’s birthday, and his favorite meal to have at a restaurant is breakfast. We live in northwest Fresno, and we were definitely bummed when our favorite nearby breakfast spot (Benaddiction) moved across town. Since then, we hadn’t really found a new place to call our own — until his birthday weekend. I’m happy to say I think we’ve finally found it!
This is one of those blog articles I’m almost hesitant to write, only because I don’t want an awesome spot to become so popular that it’s hard for us to get in. But it would be selfish not to share and help support a fantastic, locally-owned restaurant, so here we go!
Branch Breakfast Company is located in the Save Mart shopping center on Herndon and Marks, tucked into the corner spot (look for the patio umbrellas). Branch opened in late spring of this year and is a dream realized for owners Brett and Stephanie Cardoza. The restaurant is named after the imaginary restaurant their daughter once dreamed up with the same name.

On their website, Branch promises meals made from scratch with fresh, quality ingredients, freshly brewed coffee (using beans from locally-owned Otherside Coffee Roasters), a cozy and inviting atmosphere, excellent customer service, and reasonably priced hearty breakfasts. From our visit, I’d say they nailed every one of those promises!
When we arrived, we were thrilled to be seated right away. The restaurant was bustling, but even a large group of nine walked in straight from the soccer field and was seated quickly, with tables pushed together right away and a smile from staff.
Inside, the booth benches and chairs were comfortable, sunlight streamed through the front windows, and though it was too hot that day to enjoy the patio, there were multiple shaded tables outside ready for when the weather cools down. One of the owners greeted us warmly, and our server was just as kind and attentive.
The menu offered traditional breakfast favorites like the Branch Breakfast — eggs, bacon, potatoes (your choice of hash browns or country potatoes), and a waffle, French toast, or pancakes. That’s what I ordered, and as a non-egg-enjoyer, they were happy to swap my eggs for fresh fruit. I was especially pleased that the fruit was seasonal berries instead of melon, which is so often the default. The menu also features Mexican-inspired dishes like breakfast burritos, the Benny Bowl (an eggs benedict, potato, and bacon bowl with roasted chipotle peppers), and the Chile Verde Omelet, which I’ve heard is a customer favorite.

The portions were generous, and though the plates were generally $16–$18, the value felt very fair by Fresno breakfast standards. Everything was seasoned perfectly — not too salty, but full of flavor. My French toast was made with a thick slice of fresh brioche bread, and honestly, my mouth is watering just thinking about it again.

If you’re looking for a new breakfast spot, I recommend checking out Branch soon. The service is genuinely warm, the food is made with care, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. Whether you’re a traditional breakfast person or you like dishes with a twist, you’ll find something to love. And if you’re like us, you may just find yourself wanting to make Branch your new go-to spot.
