My favorite local flower shop went out of business recently, and if you love flowers and occasionally gifting them like I do, you’ll understand what a bummer that was. Thankfully, I recently stumbled into a business that has existed in Clovis for years without my knowing about it, one I think is going to fill that gap beautifully, and I wanted to make sure FresYes readers know about it, too, just in case it was also your favorite flower shop that closed.

Clovis Floral & Gifts is located in Old Town Clovis, on 4th and Clovis Avenues tucked between Two Cities Coffee Roasters (one of the BEST local coffee shops) and Loving Seed Acai Bowls. The entrance is on the narrower side, but the shop runs deep and the building is beautiful, so while you may have to pay attention not to miss it, once you’ve been inside you won’t forget it.

Right at the entrance, Clovis Floral & Gifts keeps a rack of small, beautifully arranged bouquets for just $10, ready to greet you either just outside the front door (weather permitting) or just inside the shop. They’re so lovingly arranged and so affordable that they’re the perfect grab for yourself or to brighten someone’s day, even on a tight budget.

Just beyond the bouquet rack, you’ll find boutique gift items including clothing, candles and home fragrance, unique and novelty vases, adorable plush animals, artisan chocolates, pins and buttons, stickers, handmade greeting cards, fragrances, soaps, and jewelry.

On my recent visit I got to chat with one of their floral artists, Taryn, who told me that the owners, Essence and Hawk, focus on carrying meticulously curated, unique items from small businesses and artisans, with a special emphasis on products that are natural, non-toxic, and made to last — like the special handmade chocolates they ship in fresh from New York and the gorgeous and trendy jewelry they carry that is tarnish-free.

The bouquets and arrangements at Clovis Floral & Gifts come in fresh and modern styles, with options that include pastels, interesting blooms, and organic shapes as well as more traditional round bouquets and bold, classic color combinations for special occasions.

One of my favorite things about the shop is that their online ordering system is custom to their store and not part of the Teleflora or 1-800-Flowers network, meaning you can get exactly what you want delivered locally (even same day), and not just flowers but gifts from the shop as well. Their selection is so special and unique that it’s perfect for shopping for someone who loves receiving something you can’t find just anywhere.
Clovis Floral & Gifts also offers floral subscriptions, so if you’d like fresh flowers in your home, office, or gifted to someone special on a regular basis (at whatever frequency you choose), their talented designers can take care of it for you on a “set it and forget it” basis.
If you haven’t discovered Clovis Floral & Gifts yet, consider this your sign to stop in. It’s the kind of local gem that makes you wish you’d found it sooner — and want to tell everyone about it once you do!
