Flourishing with Good Fill and The Book Bus

If you’re a fellow plant lover, you’ve likely shopped local house plant shop Let It Grow Fresno on Shields and Van Ness. However, if you haven’t been in recently, there have been a lot of fun changes in store that I think you’ll really enjoy.

Owner Kelly Replogle is all about supporting local businesses and has frequently hosted local artisans and makers during planned events on the shop’s back patio. However, recently, Let It Grow welcomed the addition of two local woman-owned businesses offering goods that will especially appeal to those who love to shop with sustainability in mind – Good Fill and The Book Bus Fresno.

Good Fill‘s product line features a zero-waste product and refills shop. They offer personal care, cleaning, and household items. Popular items include their reusable cotton facial rounds, bamboo personal cutlery set with carrying case, concentrated laundry strips, bamboo straws with cleaners, and their home and body product refill station.

Bring your own containers (jars, bottles, whatever makes sense!) and fill up with household and body care items at Good Fill’s refill station (Image credit: Let It Grow Fresno/Good Fill)

The Book Bus Fresno began as a pop-up bookstore offering gently used books from a variety of genres at affordable prices. You can feel less guilty about your book buying and stacking addiction (I know, I know you’re going to read them all – I keep promising the growing pile on my nightstand the same thing). What began as an event-based, pop-up used book shop now has a daily home inside of Let It Grow Fresno in the front left room of the store.

In addition to Good Fill and The Book Bus, Let It Grow will also be welcoming Dorothy Mae & Dominga handmade skin, body, and hair care products as the final addition to the store’s new offerings. Owner Rachel Gomez-Wafer founded the company 4 years ago and uses the healing properties of natural clays, flowers, seasonal fruits, and roots in her products. Everything is seasonally appropriate, organic, ayurvedic, and fair-trade. She offers custom product consultations to help buyers find the best products for their needs, as well.

Let It Grow may be running out of space to house additional local businesses, however, that doesn’t stop them from offering support to others by offering products for sale within their own displays. In addition to plants and plant care items, Let It Grow also offers a rotating mix of locally produced goods like Fresno ornaments by Alina Walker Designs, stickers by local artist Elowyn Dickerson, macramé wall décor and plant hangers by Wendy’s String Creations, and stickers, tees, tanks, and sweatshirts by The Fresno Souvenir Shop.

Fresno Ornaments designed by Alina Walker designs are available for purchase exclusively at Let It Grow (Image credit: Let It Grow Fresno)

So, if you’re looking for the perfect gift or just a great time shopping for yourself, and you love supporting local businesses as much as I do, Let It Grow Fresno is the place to be in 2022! They are located at 529 E. Shields in Fresno and open weekly Thursday-Sunday. Thursdays: 3 pm-6 pm (Closed the 1st Thursday of every month for Art Hop at Tower Yoga) Friday: 3 pm-6 pm, Saturday: 11 am-4 pm Sunday: 10 am-2 pm. Happy shopping!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
