Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some fun suggestions for events happening in Fresno and beyond.

If you’re in the mood to travel, the Monarch butterflies are gathered in Pismo until the end of this month. 

And don’t forget about the traveling exhibit “Courage and Compassion: Our Shared Story of the Japanese American WWII Experience”, which ends this weekend.

Friday

• Dollar Friday

Where: The Discovery Center, Fresno
When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday 
What: The first Friday of each month is $1 admission per person.

• Quilt Show 2018

Where: Clovis Veteran’s Memorial Building
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday
What: Quilts, judged and juried quilts, food, raffle, lectures and workshops.

• Geek Night: CenCal Standoff

Where: Bitwise, Fresno
When: 5-7 p.m. Friday 
What: The geek-tastic evening will be hosted by CenCal Standoff and will feature Dragon Ball FighterZ casual play and a collection of raffles. Plus, Blue Shell Gaming & Collectibles will be in the house with vendor booths for all your gaming needs. Food by Mabel’s Kitchen.

• Fresno Monsters vs Phoenix

Where: Gateway Ice Center, Fresno
When: 6-9 p.m. Friday 
What: The Monsters host the Phoenix Knights at home presented by Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Get to the doors early to buy the $20 family pack which includes: 2 general admission tickets, 2 sodas, 2 Chaffee Zoo vouchers, and 2 public skate passes.

What: A spoiled heiress running away from her family is helped by a man who is actually a reporter in need of a story.

• The Fresno High Flea: Soup-er February

Where: Fresno High School
When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday 
What: A special monthly market that showcases the finest hand made goods, vintage items, tag sale stalls, and delicious treats.
Details: Bring a can of soup or Ramen cups and packs for your chance to win a $20 shopping certificate for the March Flea. All donations benefit the Fresno City College Rams Pantry. Each item gets a ticket. [More]

• Hanford-Visalia Comic Con 2018

Where: The King’s Fair, 10th Ave., Hanford
When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 
What: Presented by Ohana Comic Con.
