Back in early Spring is when I first heard about the Sun Stereo Warehouse in Downtown Fresno. Sun Stereo was renovated and soon became a hub for small businesses, an aerial arts studio, and an events venue. This awesome space will be used for treasured Downtown events like ArtHop and FresYes Fest.
Located across from Tioga Sequoia and next to Full Circle Brewery, the Sun Stereo Warehouse is a two-story brick building. It has recently been adorned with a mural of a crow, as well as statues of crows overhead. I was told by a shop owner inside that the crow art pays homage to a group of crows. They fly into and gather a top the buildings in Downtown Fresno.
My husband and I visited the building on a quiet Sunday, midday, just to take a look around. When we entered, we saw a large staircase to our right, with a really cool light fixture hanging above, leading to the businesses housed on the second floor and “the Crow’s Nest” – an area where you can rent a desk, a workspace, or a room to work alone or co-work and collaborate.

Though several of the spaces on the first floor seemed to be in the process of being moved into, Joy’s Velitas, a candle shop, House of Morii, a clothing boutique, and Aerial Space Downtown Fresno, a studio where aerial artists and members can learn and practice. It also looked like Widow’s Walk – a tattoo studio, was nearly ready for business, if not already ready. A non-alcoholic bar, Bone Dry Sober Bar, will be opening on the first floor soon as well.
Events at Sun Stereo
The Sun Stereo Warehouse has already begun opening its doors to host Art Hop. They also offer Warehouse Wednesdays on the last Wednesday of each month. Warehouse Wednesdays is an evening which welcome booths for makers and vendors. Visitors can shop both the in-house businesses and the guest vendors.
Conclusion
The Sun Stereo Warehouse is such a great space, with beautiful, early-Fresno architecture. It includes stunning and intricate modern art, like the crows, and the huge bee mural on the eastern wall of the building (near a staging area – you can’t miss it). I can’t wait to visit again as the businesses begin to fully occupy their spaces. It will become a bustling space for shopping, enjoying a (non-alcoholic) drink, creativity, and collaboration.
