As the current heat wave continues on, are you searching for budget-friendly ways to keep your kids happy and entertained while staying cool? Look no further! We’ve compiled a list of fantastic ideas that will make this summer unforgettably fun for your family.

1. Indoor Playgrounds

Did you know that the Fresno/Clovis area boasts three incredible indoor playgrounds perfect for families with young children? It’s true! With daily drop-in rates ranging from $12 to $15 and special discounts for additional children, frequent use passes, or monthly memberships, these indoor play areas offer hours of fun for your little ones. For more information about each business, click the links below:

2. Bowling at Fresno State

You don’t need to be a Fresno State student to enjoy the awesome bowling alley located in the Student Union building on campus. It’s open to the public, and the cost per game or lane rental is significantly more affordable when compared to other local bowling alleys. A single game is just $5.75/person (+$3 for shoe rental), or you can opt for lane rental by the hour at just $32.50. Here’s a pro tip: Gather a group of friends and rent at least two lanes to bring the price down to $27.50/hour per lane. (Please note: group lane reservations require 24 hours’ notice.) 3. Summer at the Library

If you haven’t explored the exciting summer library events in Fresno County with your kids, you’re in for a treat! The public libraries have curated an amazing lineup of high-quality educational entertainment and unique experiences for kids and teens throughout the summer. From thrilling animal encounters featuring reptiles and big cats to learning and trying out African Drumming (a personal recommendation – the drum circle is an incredible experience!), there’s something for everyone. Additionally, your little ones can conduct fascinating science experiments and create wonderful make & take crafts. Check out the schedule of events happening at the library branch near you here.

4. The Summer Movie Express ($2 movies!)

The much-awaited $2 movies are back at Regal Theaters on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and we have the pleasure of having four local theaters participating this year! To secure your spots, I suggest arriving early with your kids, as these affordable and fun movie showings are pretty popular. For the list of movies showing and more participating theater information, click here.

5. Catch a Grizzlies Game & Get Waterpark Tickets for 2 for just $34!

I know we promised ways to stay cool, and while Grizzly Games can be a bit warm, the evenings tend to be more comfortable as the games don’t start until 6:50 pm. And here’s the exciting part – if you attend a home game on a Wednesday night, you’ll be able to take advantage of an amazing deal that includes Island Water Park tickets at a deeply discounted rate. For only $34, you’ll get two reserve level game tickets, 2 sodas, 2 hot dogs, and two tickets to the Island Waterpark! (Please note that tickets must be used Monday through Thursday.) To find out the available dates and to purchase these special ticket packages, click here.

There you have it, five fantastic and affordable ways to keep your family entertained and cool this summer. Don’t let the heat get the best of you – make the most of these exciting opportunities to create lasting memories with your loved ones. Happy summer and enjoy!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
