The time has come once again for us to round up all of the best local places for you to enjoy splashing and swimming while making great memories in Fresno this summer – we’ve got all the updated info for the 2024 summer season at public pools, splash parks, and waterparks, scroll on for the details and stay cool friends!

Municipal Public Pools
The 2024 Summer Aquatics season has officially begun, pools opened on June 10th. There are 3 municipal, full-sized pools offering free admission this summer. Hours are 7 days a week, 1pm to 5pm. The regular swim season runs through August 11th, however, the Mosqueda and Frank H. Ball locations will offer extended season operations on the following dates: August 17, 18, 24, 25, 31, and Sept. 1
Rules to keep in mind for these pools:
- Children must be 3 feet tall, 3 years old or older, and potty trained
- No swim diapers or floaties/tubes are allowed
Mosqueda Pool*

Frank H. Ball Pool
760 Mayor St. (Ventura & A St)
Mary Ella Brown Pool
1350 E. Annadale (Elm & Annadale)

Learner Pools
The following locations also offer “Learner Pools” which are 2.5-5 feet deep, and to be used by children who are at least 5, but no older than 12, who are at least 3 feet tall. (There is a fifth learner pool at the Pinedale Community Center but it is not operational this summer.)
- Einstein Park – 3566 E. Dakota Ave. (On Dakota, between Millbrook & First)
- Fink White Park – 535 S. Trinity (Hwy 180 & Trinity)
- Quigley Neighborhood Park – 808 W. Dakota (Fruit & Dakota)
- Romain Neighborhood Park – 745 N. First (First & Belmont)
There are also pools located at five Fresno Unified High Schools open to the public from 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays & Sundays (not available to the public on weekdays) beginning June 15th and ending July 28th. Admission is free, and the same age/floaty rules as the municipal pools apply.

FREE* Swim Lessons: The City of Fresno offers swim lessons annually, this year they will be offered at 7 different high school pool locations on weekdays. Classes will be offered in the afternoons and early evening, and lessons are free for all City of Fresno residents & Fresno Unified students. (*Lessons are $50 for non-residents) Classes are offered at a variety of skill levels too, including classes in which parents and children are in the water together and just developing water and swim familiarity, up to more advanced skill development for those already able to swim 25 meters at a time who also know several strokes – these classes help with speed and efficiency. Splash Parks
These splash parks are fixtures of larger city parks in the Fresno area. Amenities include interactive water features, misters, and cascades providing refreshing water play for children at no cost. This year, water features will operate from 10am – 8pm daily. (Splash pads begin operating in late May each year.)

Local Waterparks (Pay to Play)
The Island Waterpark
Ideal for those living closer to the West side of Fresno, The Island Waterpark offers 11 water slides, a children’s water play park, a lazy river, and abundant picnic areas. Tickets are $39.99 for adults and $34.99 for children under 48″ tall. On Wednesdays, tickets are just $28 if you buy online in advance (July 3rd excluded). Season passes start at $89.99, and there are available upgrades at $99 and $119 that allow you to save money on parking and guest passes, too.
Of note: so far this season, multiple special deals have been posted on their Facebook page including buy one ticket get one free at the gate on Father’s Day – I’d recommend giving them a follow if you plan to go – you may save some $!
Wild Water Adventures
For those living more Eastward or in Clovis, Wild Water Adventures offering more than 15 slides, a wave pool, children’s play area, abundant shade, and even fishing is a great choice. Buy tickets online or in person.
If you plan to go to either park more than twice this summer, season passes are usually the most economical way to go ($109.99/person for the season). Daily ticket prices vary and are less expensive if purchased online in advance vs. at the gate (prices range from $34.99/day, to $54.99 per person) for specific daily rates click here.
Blackbeard’s
Blackbeard’s waterslides have been closed for the past several years, however they are rumored to be reopening this summer, and it’s stated as such on their website. Click the link for weekly attraction updates to watch for their official reopening announcement.
