This post is one I am consistently asked to get up as soon as the sweltering weather settles in for summer, and this year is no exception. Just for you dear readers, I have your updated 2025 summer round up of places to swim, splash and soak up the summer sun in the Fresno/Clovis area.

Municipal Public Pools

The 2025 City of Fresno Summer Aquatics season is just about to begin, and all 3 types of pools will be opening on June 16th  this year and accessible 7 days a week with hours from 1-5pm. Admission is free at all of these locations.

Full-Sized Municipal Pools

  1. Mosqueda Pool
    4670 E. Butler (Maple & Butler)
  2. Frank H. Ball Pool
    760 Mayor St. (Ventura & A St)
  3. Mary Ella Brown Pool
    1350 E. Annadale (Elm & Annadale)

Rules to keep in mind for these pools:

  • Children must be 3 feet tall, 3 years old or older, and potty trained
  • No swim diapers or floaties/tubes are allowed

Learner Pools

The following locations also offer “Learner Pools” which are 2.5-5 feet deep, and to be used by children who are at least 5, but no older than 12, who are at least 3 feet tall. Please note, parents are not allowed in the learner pools, only children. (Last year, the Pinedale pool was not operational, but its back in action and will be open this summer.)

  1. Einstein Park – 3566 E. Dakota Ave. (On Dakota, between Millbrook & First)
  2. Fink White Park – 535 S. Trinity (Hwy 180 & Trinity)
  3. Quigley Neighborhood Park – 808 W. Dakota (Fruit & Dakota)
  4. Romain Neighborhood Park – 745 N. First (First & Belmont)
  5. Pinedale Community Center – 7170 N. San Pablo

Wader Pools

The following spots offer Wader Pools which are just 1 foot deep and have no age restrictions. These are great for toddlers to enjoy splashing around while their parents can keep their feet wet alongside them as they explore.

  1. Lafayette Park – 1516 E Princeton Ave. (Princeton/Blackstone)
  2. Sunset Community Center – 1345 W Eden Ave. (Eden/West)
  3. Pinedale Community Center – 7170 N. San Pablo (Herndon/San Pablo)

FREE* Swim Lessons: The City of Fresno PARCs department partners with Fresno Unified to offer free & low-cost swim lessons annually. This year they will be offered at 6 different high school pools, one community pool, Fresno State and Break the Barriers with sessions being held on weekday afternoons and evenings. Classes are offered at a variety of skill levels too, including classes in which parents and children are in the water together and just developing water and swim familiarity, up to more advanced skill development for those already able to swim 25 meters at a time who also know several strokes – these classes help with speed and efficiency. Splash Parks

These splash parks are fixtures of larger city parks in the Fresno area. Amenities include interactive water features, misters, and cascades providing refreshing water play for children at no cost. This year, water features will operate from 10am – 8pm daily. (Splash pads began operating May 24th this year.)

Locations:

  • Dickey Playground 50 N. Calaveras Street
  • Figarden Loop Park 4265 W. Figarden Drive
  • Todd Beamer Park 9797 N. Maple Ave.
  • Martin Ray Reilly Park 750 N. Chestnut Ave.
  • Melody Park 5935 E. Shields Ave.
  • Inspiration Park 5770 W. Gettysburg Ave.
  • Vinland Park 4695 E. Gettysburg
  • Mosqueda Community Center 4670 E. Butler Ave. Water Parks
  • Fink White Park 535 S. Trinity, Fresno, CA 93706

Of note: if there are any updates regarding public pools and/or splash parks, the PARCs Dept is good about sharing up to date info on their Facebook page, here.

Local Waterparks & Complexes (Pay to Play)

The Island Waterpark

Ideal for those living closer to the West side of Fresno, The Island Waterpark  offers 11 water slides, a children’s water play park, a lazy river, and abundant picnic and shaded cabana areas. General admission tickets are $44.99 for anyone 48″ tall or above. Junior admission or senior & military tickets are $39.99 and children under 2 are free.

On Tuesdays, you can get two tickets for $49.99. On Wednesdays, tickets are $29.99 if you buy online in advance (look for “Wavy Wednesday” tickets). Season passes start at $99.99, and there are available upgrades at $119 and $149 that allow you to save money on parking, cabana rentals, concessions and guest passes, too.

Wild Water Adventures

For those living more eastward or in Clovis, Wild Water Adventures offering more than 15 slides, a wave pool, children’s play area, abundant shade, and even fishing is a great choice. Buy tickets online or in person. Please note, their one-time passes are priced with dynamic pricing, meaning, the more popular the date you choose, the more you’ll pay for your ticket. Prices range from $33 midweek to $55 on 4th of July.

If you plan to go to more than twice this summer, season passes are usually the most economical way to go ($109.99/person for the season for the Gold Pass or $79.99 for the more limited Silver Pass if you purchase before their opening weekend, June 7th).

Central East High School Aquatics Complex

Public swimming and waterslides are available to the public Tuesday through Friday from 12-6pm and Saturdays from 11am-6pm beginning June 14th and ending August 2nd. Public swim is only in the Activity and Waterslide pools as the lap pool will be used for team activities. The cost is $6 per person per day (swimming or not) however they also offer family packs for those who want to visit the complex all summer long and save some money, too. Their rule list is a bit more extensive than some of the other swim locations, and swim lessons are also available, so definitely check out their website as you plan your visit.

Blackbeard’s

Blackbeard’s waterslides have been closed since 2020, and despite an announcement online stating they were hoping to reopen for summer 2024 last year, I did call while writing this update and was told there are no plans to re-open the waterslides at this time. I hope someday they will be able to however, as I have fond childhood memories of slip sliding down the hills with my mom and friends.

Ok folks – there’s your roundup for Summer 2025! Grab your sunscreen and towels and I’ll see you splashing under the rays of the Central Valley sun!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
