With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to introduce you to one of Fresno’s newer florists—one you may not yet be aware of but will likely want to be!
Last week, I needed flowers for a business associate who had gone above and beyond in our work together. I had stopped at Hungry Bear Cookies in Fig Garden Village when I remembered seeing a local floral and plant shop in the same shopping center. Though I had never been inside before, this seemed like the perfect occasion to pay them a visit.
Fresh Ideas Flower Company is a locally owned floral and plant shop located just a couple of doors down from the post office in Fig Garden Village at Shaw and Palm. The first thing you’ll notice when approaching the shop is a cart filled with pre-arranged bouquets priced under $20. On the day I visited, there were mini carnation bouquets for as little as $8, dozen-rose bouquets for $12.99, and mixed spring flower bouquets for $18.99.
As I stepped inside, I was greeted by the fresh, light scent of florals. The florist’s counter is at the back of the shop, but before reaching it, you’ll find yourself in a mini tropical jungle filled with beautiful, healthy plants. I spotted a variety of species, including Monsteras, Fiddle Leaf Figs, Dracaenas, Calatheas, Orchids, and Ficuses. There were also potted arrangements featuring both houseplants and florals, as well as dried stems and pops of colorful florals.
When I spoke with the florists, they were happy to create a custom arrangement for me in about 15 minutes. They also offered to arrange one of the prepared bouquets in a vase—a great option! For $26, I was able to purchase both the bouquet and a large glass vase. The florist carefully unwrapped the bouquet, trimmed the stems, arranged the flowers beautifully in the vase, and filled it with water. (It looked so much better than I would have been able to arrange it myself!)
Fresh Ideas seems like the perfect local florist, whether you need to grab flowers in a hurry or have time for a custom arrangement. The designs they were working on while I was there were absolutely stunning. Most larger arrangements require just a day’s notice, and they even offer free delivery with a code listed on the top left-hand corner of their website.
