A Day on the Course for a Cause That Matters

One of the things I love about Fresno is how often a simple conversation turns into a story worth sharing.

Yesterday, I was at Zinc Financial and had the chance to meet Rejohnna Bunch. We started talking (and yes, Fresno the puppy made an appearance), and Rejohnna told me about her mom, Regana McKinney McGee, who dedicated an incredible 38 years to serving children and families.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the 1st Annual Regana’s Legacy Golf Tournament will take place at Eagle Springs Golf & Country Club in Friant, benefiting children and youth in foster care through A Positive Attitude Outlook, Inc. Foster Family Agency.

And this isn’t just a round of golf.

Every registration and sponsorship helps provide foster youth with things that can make a real difference in their lives, enrichment activities, summer experiences, school and personal essentials, milestone celebrations, mentorship, and emergency support. It’s a fitting way to honor Regana’s 38 years of service to children and families.

Here’s What the Day Looks Like

The tournament is a 4-person scramble, with check-in beginning at 7:00 AM and a 9:00 AM shotgun start. Registration is $175 per player or $700 for a foursome.

Players get 18 holes and a cart, breakfast and lunch, plus plenty happening throughout the day. There will be Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Hole-in-One contests, along with a raffle, silent auction, vendor booths, awards and prizes.

Want to Get Involved?

You don’t necessarily have to be the next Tiger Woods to support this one.

Beyond registering to play, businesses and organizations can get involved through several sponsorship opportunities, ranging from $300 hole sponsorships to larger event partnerships.

Sometimes you hear someone’s story and immediately think, more people should know about this. That was my reaction after talking with Rejohnna.

So if golf is your thing, or supporting foster youth in our community is your thing, put October 17 on your calendar. You can spend a Saturday on a beautiful course, have some fun, and know that your participation is helping honor a legacy built around serving children and families.

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Fresno? I say FresYES

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
