It’s the most important meal of the day, so why not make the most of it? Here are Fresno’s 8 best breakfast spots.

1. Al’s Café

Known for its hearty and delicious Mexican and American breakfasts, including Huevos Rancheros, Pancake Sandwich, and the Nopales Omelette, Al’s is found at 1823 W. Olive Ave. It’s open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. More info

2. Benaddiction

We love Benaddiction’s food so much, we’ve covered it multiple times on our site, including dedicating a Fresno Flavor episode to it. Located at 3015 W. Bullard Ave., Benaddiction is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. More info

3. Red Apple Café

When asked what their top breakfast spot in Fresno was, the agents and staff at FresYes Realty overwhelmingly chose Red Apple. Like, it wasn’t even close. The French toast and bacon are the stand-outs at this restaurant, which is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week and is located at 488 W. Herndon Ave. More info

4. Batter Up Pancakes

Batter Up Pancakes has won or placed in the The Fresno Bee’s People’s Choice Award for Best Breakfast seven years in a row. What more do you need to know? You can find this restaurant at 8029 N. Cedar Ave. It’s open from 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mon-Fri and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat-Sun. More info

5. Eddie’s Bakery Café

With an assortment of scones, muffins, Danish, croissants, and cakes of all kinds, Eddie’s is a pastry lover’s dream. You can get a “real” breakfast here, but we know you’re really in it for the sweets. Find Eddie’s at 7089 N. Cedar Ave. Café hours are Mon-Sun 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bakery is open Mon-Sat 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sun 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. More info

6. The Patio Café

Located in Fig Garden Village, Patio Café prides itself on serving fresh, local, and healthy foods. Even better? They serve breakfast all day on their large, colorful patio (there’s plenty of seating in the newly redecorated inside, as well.) Patio Café is open Sun-Wed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thurs-Sat 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. More info

7. Fresno Breakfast House

If you want a sign of Fresno Breakfast House’s popularity with Fresno families, just try to get a table on a Sunday morning. The home-y feel of the restaurant adds to its charm, as does the presence of musician Nate Butler playing standards and other favorites on the piano. Fresno Breakfast House is located at 2085 W. Bullard Ave. and is open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. seven days a week. More info

8. The Chicken Pie Shop

You want a real, good old-fashioned diner breakfast experience? Grandmarie’s Chicken Pie Shop in the Tower District is it. Grab a cup of coffee and a plate of biscuits and gravy and let yourself be transported to a bygone era where green vinyl booths were the height of fashion. Located at 861 E. Olive Ave., the Chicken Pie Shop is open Mon-Fri from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sat from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sun from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. More info
