Build your own sliders at Burgerim

There’s basically never a time when I’m not craving a burger. I love burgers the way most people probably love pizza. So when my friend told me about a new build-your-own sliders place, you can bet I was in. After all, if you can choose your own toppings for your pizza, why not burgers, too?

The place I’m talking about is Burgerim, which is a fast casual joint that opened next to Dave & Buster’s off Friant and Fresno a few months ago (there is another location on Clovis Ave. near Kings Canyon, as well). They boast a menu that offers over 40 million ways to build your burger. I’ve been three times now, and pretty much every combo I’ve made has been delicious.

Choices are basically endless

Here’s how it works: You start with a base of meat. That alone give you five different kinds of beef (regular, merguez, dry-aged, Spanish or wagyu), lamb, turkey, chicken, salmon, veggie patty, or falafel. Then you choose your style (aka toppings like cheese, sauce, and veggies). You can pick from a few recommended recipes like California and Cowboy, or get creative and do whatever your heart desires.

The sliders are available in combos of uno, duo, or trio, and you can customize each individual burger in your box. The combos also come with a side of Burgerim fries, which are actually a delicious cross between fries and chips, and a drink. The fries alone might be worth the trip, and even the drink has endless possibilities, because Burgerim has a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, which is another one of my favorite things.

Speaking of drinks, Burgerim also does milkshakes, because burgers and shakes are a classic combo, of course. And they serve wine and beer, too, including local favorites from Tioga-Sequoia for only $5.

If you’re somehow NOT a burger lover like me, and someone drags you to Burgerim anyway, they have chicken strips and wings, as well as salads. And burgers can come without the bun, wrapped in lettuce or on a salad. By the way, I have actually tasted almost every “meat” option on the menu, including the salmon and veggie patties, and they’re pretty good!

Honestly, maybe the trick is to just put Burgerim’s garlic aioli on everything! My personal favorite so far is the lamb burger topped with swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and the garlic aioli, which is to die for.

If you’re having a party, you can also call ahead and order a big box of your favorite sliders. Check out Burgerim’s full menu and other information on their website.

If you go, I would love to hear what combos are your favorites. Maybe you can inspire me to try something new next time. After all, there are 40 million possibilities!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
