What’s Hot & Happening June 2 – 4

By FresYes Writing Team

Remember when we were complaining about all the rain? Get ready to sizzle, Fresno! The weekend is here & it’s bringing temperatures that are heating up to the high 90s. As the sun prepares to turn up the heat, we’re getting fired up for an adventure that’s hotter than ever. So get ready to embrace the scorching energy of Fresno & make this weekend a blazing experience.

As you step outside, get ready to feel the heat radiate through your skin, as if Mother Nature herself is turning up the thermostat. Embrace the fiery temperatures by seeking out the coolest spots in town. Head to Fresno’s magnificent parks, where lush green lawns & towering trees provide a refreshing oasis in the midst of the heatwave. Take a leisurely stroll & let the warm breeze fan the flames of your excitement. Just remember to pack your sunscreen & don a sizzling-hot wide-brimmed hat to stay protected as you bask in the radiant glory of Fresno’s outdoors. Wow! That came out waay more dramatic sounding than when we wrote it. Sorry about that!

The FresYes Explorer

More than a few of you have asked what happened to that “explorer” series & we’re happy to bring it back, if only for this week. (maybe next week too)This week’s theme is going to be “Keeping Cool“. Ready? OK!

It’s Friday Night. Head on over to our friends at Tap & Cellar. Walk in & you’ll be instantly swept up in the smooth musical tones of The Jaz Cru. Show them your best smooth jazz moves as you head to the bar & order up a pint of Socks & Sandals. It’s a Foggy IPA from Humble Sea that’s double dry-hopped with Citra, Centennial, Simcoe & Chinook. 6.6 ABV & 64 IBU. You’ll get aromas of blood orange, juicy tangelo, & just a hint of dankness with flavors of pineapple, grapefruit, & lemon lime. This is a medium light, crushable, & refreshing beer to go with that medium light, crushable, & refreshing Jazz.

For Saturday Day, let’s keep the kids cool. Put their suits on, hose them down with sunscreen & head out to either Island Water Park, Wild Water Adventure Park, or Wilderness Falls at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo.

As the sun sets Saturday Night, we’ll be at Tioga Sequoia Beer Garden for Simon & Garfunkel Night. One Trick Pony will be doing all the favorites & we’ll be “Feeling Groovy” with a pint of their recently released Half Dome Strawberry California Wheat. You can’t have an IPA every time, right? They’ve taken their California wheat to the next level with strawberries! Its refreshing fruit notes & unfiltered body make it an easy-to-drink beer. Packed with real strawberries grown in California too! 4.7 ABV & just 18 IBU means we’ll be singing along all night!

When the sun rises on Sunday, let’s start with a great breakfast. We’ve written about a few great places at https://fresyes.com/breakfast/ We’re not going to pick for you so choose your fav & go!

It’s going to be an even warmer day so maybe hit the water again with the kids? Natali did an incredible job last summer with “Where to Swim & Cool Off in Fresno, 2022 Edition“. Such a great resource!

Note: she also did Where to Swim & Cool Off in Fresno 2021 (& a 2018 version too!).

Afterwards nothing sounds like a better idea than ice cream, right? How about a little Ampersand? Yeah, that’s what we were thinking too! Yes you can do the Madagascar Vanilla, or the Dark Chocolate but where’s the adventure in that? Try either the “Apricots & Goat Cheese” or the “Honey Bourbon Peach” – now that’s an adventure!

BONUS POINTS: Did you notice how we replaced every “and” in this post? Seriously. Every Single AND – even in the featured property description. So how many Ampersands did we use?

Oh & remember that when you do any of these things don’t forget to tag FresYes on Instagram & use the #FresYes hashtag too. If we see your post we’ll re-post it!

Jason Farris
Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Fresno? I say FresYES

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
