Hot and Happening this weekend in Fresno

It is October, the official kickoff of spooky season! It’s that time of year when pumpkin spice invades our lives like an overenthusiastic aunt at a family gathering. We trade our flip-flops for witch’s brooms and start preparing for a month-long sugar coma thanks to all those Halloween treats.

It’s also time for The Big Fresno Fair. If you want to see everything, taste everything, and do everything – all while saving money you better read Natali’s post, “Get Ready for Ultimate Fun at the 2023 Big Fresno Fair!“.

It’s also when we dust off our cobweb decorations and pretend we’ve got a haunted mansion instead of a slightly haunted microwave that occasionally makes eerie noises.

PSA: There’s just a few weeks left to get your Swede Film submitted. Hint, hint…just think of all the great spooky season movies you could do! Young Frankenstein, Halloween, Saw, Scream, Psycho, The Shining, Carrie, Shaun of the Dead, Elm Street, Night of the Living Dead, The Thing, The Ring, Chucky, The Exorcist, Haunted Hill, Poltergeist, The Omen, It, A Quiet Place, The Birds, Blair Witch… We could go on and on! Pick one and get your swede on! The FresYes Interview: Swede Fest.

Brace yourselves for our “Featured Event” this week. If you follow us on Instagram – we’re giving away two tickets to Raisin Hell Ranch AND two tickets to Moccasin Creek at ApCal.

Things are about to get spooktacular!

RAISIN HELL RANCH

Raisin Hell Ranch, voted the Central Valley’s scariest haunted attraction, is opening on Saturday, October 7th in Madera, CA. Every part of this year’s haunted cornfield has been upgraded with brand-new “decrepit” buildings, demonic designs and all new terrifying experiences.

“It’s our largest off-season upgrade ever. Every single scare is creepier, more intense and more horrifying,” says Darren Schmall, the owner and mastermind behind Raisin Hell Ranch. “We’ve also completely revamped our entry and line-up system so that there are much shorter wait times.”

The haunted “house” is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Gates open at 6 p.m. and ticketing ends at 10 p.m.

General admission single attraction tickets start at $20 and multi-attraction tickets start at $35-$45. Both ticket types are on sale now. Front-of-the-Line FastPasses are available for $15 per person (limited to 100 per night). Admission is limited, so it’s recommended that guests purchase tickets and the FastPass in advance for the most popular dates and times.

The Bloody Mary’s Beer Garden is serving beer, wine and cocktails from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in a 21+ only admission area. It’s the only haunt serving drinks along with the scares. Your favorite old time black and white horror movies will be playing on a big screen TV.

Raisin Hell Ranch has also introduced a Weekday Season Pass for those who can’t get enough fright and screams. The pass is good for every Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday night, plus the 30th and Halloween Night, the 31st. There is a one and two-person option. The two-person option allows the pass holder to bring anyone they’d like so that they can scare the wits out of a different friend on every visit.

Due to the intense nature of this haunted attraction, parental discretion is advised and there are no refunds for children (or adults) who cannot complete the chilling journey. This haunted attraction is recommended for 12 years and up.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
