That Moment You Realize You’re Hosting the Super Bowl Party, aka Where to Get Food

That moment you realize you’re hosting the Super Bowl party can be a bit overwhelming, right? Should I order out? Should I cook? What type of food should I get? How much food should I get? How much is this all going to cost me?

All of these thoughts are probably running through your head as you start your frantic Google search for the best deal in town. Lucky for you, I’ve already done the searching and actually, we have some pretty amazing options surrounding us here in Fresno.

There are basically three major football food groups that you can’t go wrong with: pizza, wings, and anything you can throw on the grill. Whether you’ve got a party of 5 or 25, I’ve found a way for you to keep them full while maintaining your sanity simultaneously.

I must forewarn you, a few of the meat markets are closed on Sunday, so you’ll need to grab your order Saturday. This works out better for you in the long runโ€”avoiding long lines/wait timesโ€”and gives you the freedom to prepare your food exactly how you want, when you want.

Okay, so let’s get this started.

Where to Get Wings

hosting the super bowl party

The Meat Market (Fresno Location, Closed Sunday):

  • For $2.99, you can get a whole pound of wings cooked and ready for Sunday!
  • For just $1.89, you can get a whole pound of uncooked wings to prepare on your own just the way you like (this just might be the best deal I found in my search).

Rena’s Meat Market (Closed Sunday):

  • For $8.99, you can get a tray of 10 jumbo wings and for just $16, you can grab two trays! (More is always better when it comes to wings.)

Buffalo Wild Wings:

  • A large order of wings, which comes on average with about 20 wings, will cost you $20.29 for traditional and $19.99 for boneless.
  • If you plan on going big, a party tray with 50 traditional wings will cost you $50.49 and $44.49 for boneless.

Where to Get Pizza

Popolo’s Pizza:

  • A large one-topping Popolo’s pizza is just $14.95 right now, a few dollars cheaper than their regular price, so make sure to ask for the deal!

More Than Pizza:

  • If you’ve had More Than Pizza, then you know they are the real deal, and at an amazing price. Order here to get an extra large, one topping for just $10.50.

Papa John’s:

  • Being the official Super Bowl 51 sponsor and all, you know they had to make an appearance on our list. With an offer of 40% off all online orders with the code: SAVE6, we think it’s well deserved!

Hungry Howie’s:

  • Order one large pizza with one or more toppings and your second pizza is just 0.17 cents! They also have tons of other specials you can find here.

Where to Get Stuff for The Grill

hosting the super bowl party

The Meat Market (Clovis location, Open Sunday):

  • 2 pounds of mouth-watering tri-tip will only run you $29.99 and you’ll receive a free bag of rolls!

Rena’s Meat Market (In-store offers, Closed Sunday):

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breast: $1.99 a pound.
  • Chicken thighs: $1.79 a pound.
  • Plain, untrimmed tri-tip: $3.09 a pound.
  • 10-pound bag of leg quarters: $6.90 total!

Click here to receive a voucher to get $5 off your order of $50 or more at Rena’s.

And that just about covers it. Oh, and don’t forget to keep an eye on the grill Sunday, because I think we’ve got a good game ahead of us!

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
