Simple, delicate, roasted shrimp in your next kitchen

It is a rare day when I show a home to a buyer and they don’t head straight for the kitchen before inspecting the rest of the home.  No matter if the kitchen is large or small, it is the heart of the home. It is where meals are created and shared with those you love.  The kitchen is where conversation almost always begins (I take my coffee black) and often ends.  We’re spending more time entertaining in the kitchen and more of us are preparing food as if we have our own cooking show, and we want plenty of room for our family and friends to watch or help.

With that thought in mind I seized the opportunity to showcase the beautiful kitchen and home at 14810 Canvas Back Lane while having local celebrity KC Pomering, owner of G-Free Foodie share with us her recipe for this simple yet delicious oven roasted shrimp with lemon and garlic.

Ingredients

2 pounds (12-15 or 16-20 count) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
2-3 tablespoons good olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 lemons, sliced
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a large bowl, toss the shrimp, garlic and 2/3 of the lemon slices with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil and the salt & pepper.

Arrange the shrimp in 1 layer on a rimmed sheet pan, ensuring that the lemon slices are spread evenly throughout. Roast for 8 to 10 minutes, just until pink and firm and cooked through. Serve alone or over gluten free pasta or rice.

Curious about the home in video?

It’s a beautiful private estate in the gated community of Mallard Meadows. Situated over 5 impeccably landscaped acres, the 5500 sq ft Tuscan-style villa is nothing less than a master class in elegance and grandeur. Hallmarks of the home include a chef-quality kitchen featuring wrap-around granite countertops, commercial-grade gas range, a walk-in pantry, an exquisite handmade copper produce sink, floor to ceiling wine cellar and artisan-lain travertine tile. A custom-designed and hand-hewn circular staircase leads to the sumptuous master retreat where you’ll find a luxurious steam shower, bidet, sauna, hot tub and fireplace. Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Fresno? I say FresYES

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
