Have you heard of “glimmers” yet? Unlike triggers, which can evoke negative emotions, glimmers are those delightful moments that spark joy and contentment. As a fall enthusiast, I’ve been on the hunt for such glimmers especially now that the most beautiful, colorful phase of fall has arrived in the Fresno/Clovis area.
To spread this joy, I’ve curated five local experiences that promise to bring a sparkle to your weekend. Gather your loved ones and dive into these special seasonal treats!

1. Leafy Strolls and Coffee in Old Town Clovis:
The oak-lined streets of Old Town Clovis, reminiscent of the charming Stars Hollow set from Gilmore Girls, are a sight to see with their colorful autumn leaves. Start your journey with a coffee from Two Cities on Fourth Street, On the Edge on Pollasky, or Kuppa Joy on Clovis Ave. As you stroll, explore the quaint boutiques and antique stores, and don’t miss the chance to pick up a $5 bouquet from Clovis Floral & Cafe.
2. Festive Finds at Downtown Fresno’s Holiday Market:
Mark your calendars for the inaugural Holiday Market at Sun Stereo Warehouse. Choose from dates: Saturday, November 18th, or December 9th, from 9am to 1pm. This festive event features locally grown poinsettias, fresh wreaths, holiday portraits, coffee and a variety of vendors for your gift-shopping needs.
3. San Joaquin Clay & Glass Sale:
For those who appreciate the artistry of ceramics and glass, the San Joaquin Clay & Glass sale is a must-visit. Taking place this Saturday, November 18th, from 10am to 3pm at Redeemers Lutheran Church, it’s a great opportunity to support local artists like Hannah Rose Ceramics, who makes the most amazing mugs (and other pieces, too) for gifting!
4. Gelato and Grandeur at Gelateria Del Centro:
Celebrate the grand opening of Gelateria Del Centro in Downtown Fresno. Join the ribbon cutting on November 17th at noon (or visit during the weekend) and indulge in authentic Italian gelato. The gelateria, located near Warnors Theater and Fulton Street Coffee, boasts a stunning interior remodel that’s a must-see, and very Insta-worthy.
5. Evening Delights at Moto Deli:
Did you know Moto Deli across from Fresno High on Echo & McKinley serves beer and wine from 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday? Enjoy their daily specials like lasagna or pizza, paired with a charcuterie board, and finish with a delectable decaf coffee from Mirror Coffee, handcrafted by locally beloved barista & owner, Katie Truax on Thursday and Saturday evenings.
I hope these suggestions bring a little extra sparkle to your fall days. Happy glimmer-hunting in the Fresno/Clovis area!
