Ice Cream > Cake?

This may just end up being a shameless plug for ice cream, that would be okay right?

I’ve always been an ice cream kind of person. Perhaps it was the context that surrounded me when I first had ice cream introduced to me. I recall two things – first is was helping my grandmother make homemade ice cream in some old metal container surrounded with rock salt and ice in a wood bucket. She served it up in stone bowls with a thick metal spoon – no topping was necessary, it was perfect as it was served in all of its vanilla goodness!

The second was riding my bike to or walking with my family to the Baskin Robbins at the corner of Shields and Palm for a double scoop on waffle cone. As far as cakes go, I can’t recall anyone during my youth baking cakes and putting them in the window, nothing cliche that would give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about them so yea I’m all in for ice cream.

Fresyes.com has grown to become a pretty darn impressive marketing machine. Our stories and homes are reaching a tremendous amount of people these days , it is very humbling to me. I am incredibly thankful to all of our readers, without them things surely would not be as exciting… and I would’t get free ice cream.

This last week Baskin Robbins had a gift card for one of their new Polar Pizzas delivered to our office and I immediately was overcome with nostalgia. Nobody got any evidence of me noshing down on it (thank you to Bree for allowing the pictures of her indulging) but I can tell you first hand these ice cream pizzas are delicious! They come in several different combinations, one of them will surely satisfy your sweet tooth.

So this is me confessing my love for ice cream and thanking Baskin Robbins for taking me back in time. I think I will grab my kids and go and create some ice cream memories with them right now – here we come Baskin Robbins!

I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.
