So tell us, who are you, where did you come from, and what do you do?
My name is Lance Sanchez. I am the owner and I hail from Fresno, CA where I was born and raised. My interest in baking sparked while working as a Bakers Assistant at Eddie’s Bakery in 1991. Later, I welcomed two daughters, Rachel in 1993 and Haivyn in 1998. Some of the sweetest things in life are born out of love. For this dad, becoming a father was the most cherished moment that inspired me to create Dads Cookies. My homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe, perfected over the years baking for my daughters, is now shared with the Central Valley and I like to think they can taste the love in every bite.
Tell us more about Dads Cookies
Dads Cookies is a Family Owned Bakery that offers Gooey Gourmet Cookie to the Central Valley. We started in 2020 at the start of the pandemic when I was laid off from my job of 11 years in audiology. Instead of dwelling on the setback, I took the opportunity to start a new venture and turned to my youngest daughter, Haivyn Sanchez, for help. With her expertise in marketing for restaurants across Los Angeles, we were able to launch Dads Cookies, build buzz, and offer a product that the community quickly began raving about.
We began our journey by taking online orders, which led to selling at farmers markets. As our popularity grew, we started catering to wholesale clients, and with hard work and perseverance, we saved enough to open our first storefront in 2022 and have more locations set to open in 2023.
What is that makes Dads Cookies stand out from the rest?
Our branding and customer service are two factors that set us apart from the rest. Our branding strategy is well thought out, and our team works tirelessly to ensure that everything we release is consistent and recognizable to our customers. Whether it’s our blue color scheme or our cookie illustrations, you can easily identify our products as being from Dad’s Cookies. We take pride in branding every aspect of our business, from our food trailer to our new branded cookie boxes. In addition to our branding, we are committed to delivering a memorable customer service experience. We aim to make our customers feel like part of our family, as their enjoyment of our cookies is an extension of that.
And what would you say that most people don’t know about you?
Many people are unaware that Dads Cookies is still a relatively small team. We are a family-owned business with myself leading the development efforts. Haivyn, my youngest daughter, handling the Marketing and Operations, and Jordan, my nephew, overseeing production. Along with the family members, we have seven other team members who work as cashiers and bakers.
We are excited to announce that we will be expanding to a new location in Lemoore and hiring more team members! Our goal is to continue growing and serving delicious cookies to our customers.
That’s exciting! Can you tell us more about that?
Like I mentioned, we are expanding to Lemoore, with a new location set to open later this June. We are excited to bring our delicious cookies to new customers in the area. This is just the beginning of our expansion plans, as we are also working towards opening locations in Los Banos and our first stand-alone store in Clovis in 2024. We are committed to providing our customers with the best cookies possible and expanding our reach to new communities. Stay tuned for more updates on our expansion plans!
