What’s Hot & Happening September 22 – 24

By FresYes Writing Team

Would you like the good news or the bad news first?

We thought so! The Good news is that there’s freakin’ so so much to do here this weekend. Seriously! The ClovisFest starts Saturday, plus the Bulldogs are at home on Saturday. They are 3 and 0 and you can just feel the excitement around town.

WE’RE GIVING AWAY 2 TICKETS TO THE BULLDOG GAME! JUST ANSWER THE QUIZ IN THE FRESYES INSIDER SATURDAY MORNING!

Sunday has WWE at the Save Mart. Oh my!

Sometimes the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few.

The Bad News? You just can’t do it all. Just think about tonight… There’s Bluegrass in the Park, then there’s a screening of one of the better Star Trek movies of all time at The Crest. Better? Some would say it’s the BEST! But, then the Marshall Tucker Band is playing too?

How are you ever going to decide?

The 48th Annual ClovisFest and Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly

This weekend the Central Valley comes alive with the sights and sounds of hot air balloons, shopping, and family entertainment! The 48th annual ClovisFest and Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly, hosted by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, is set to take place this weekend. It’s a much-anticipated event that draws thousands of local residents from Clovis and Fresno to Old Town Clovis for a fantastic day of family fun.

Step into the vibrant atmosphere and explore the ClovisFest International Village on 4th Street. Here, you and your family can embark on exciting cultural adventures and enjoy captivating live performances.

Don’t miss the chance to witness the spectacular display of hot air balloons. You’ll want to be at the Clovis Rodeo grounds before sunrise. Yeah, it’s hella early but you’ll be treated to the breathtaking sight (and sound) of these majestic balloons preparing for takeoff. To secure a prime viewing spot, make sure to arrive early on both Saturday and Sunday. The balloon pilots start inflating their balloons around 6:15 am, with liftoff scheduled for dawn, weather permitting. Dawn is at 6:47 A.M. because you were just wondering that, right?

While public balloon rides may not be available, tethered rides are an option for those seeking a taste of the ballooning experience. ClovisFest is always an unforgettable blend of hot air balloons, unique craft vendors, delectable festival foods, and a rich cultural adventure for everyone to enjoy.

Where To Find Major Attractions:

Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly – Clovis Rodeo Grounds (Arrive early morning, around 6 am for best viewing position). Sunrise is at 6:47 AM

Street Fair with Vendors & Festival Foods – On Pollasky Avenue between 3rd Street and 8th Street in Old Town Clovis opens at 8am.

International Village – Enter at Pollasky & 4th street for live entertainment and cultural booths

Inflatable Attractions – Located on the east side of 4th Street & Pollasky Avenue (Near Two Cities Coffee)

Kids Zone – Located on the east side of 5th Street & Pollasky Avenue

Made In Clovis & Children’s Business Fair – Located on Pollasky Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets

Hot air balloons are really cool. (pun totally intended)Did you know:

  • The Balloon part that fills with hot air is called the Envelope.

  • The Burners run on propane – just like your BBQ.

  • The Basket is commonly made out of woven wicker – for it’s lightness and strength. There’s usually a steel or aluminum frame.

  • Obviously the balloon cannot be steered but… the pilot can move the balloon up or down to find a different wind direction.

  • Wind? Check out Windy.com – it’s pretty wild!

Hey, if you are one of the Balloon Pilots could you please fly up towards Millerton Lake? – we have a great listing that would look fabulous from a up there! (see our Featured Listing below)

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Fresno? I say FresYES

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
