What’s Hot & Happening February 24 -26

By FresYes Writing Team

It's Fresno State Basketball this weekend!

It’s going to be a cold and wet one this weekend so we’re looking for cozy, we’re looking for comfort, and looking for fun. We have a few ideas in mind.

Whether it’s a coffee shop with a barista who spells your name right and knows your coffee order, a bookstore with a secret reading nook that feels like a portal to Narnia, or a bar with a friendly atmosphere where everybody knows your name (and your embarrassing karaoke song), these places can lift your spirits, tickle your funny bone, and make you feel like you belong.

Fresno State Men’s Basketball

In case you haven’t been following along, the Fresno State men’s basketball team secured a 74-69 victory over the Air Force Falcons on Tuesday evening, thanks to a remarkable display by Eduardo Andre, who achieved a personal best of 26 points. Andre, a junior center, scored double figures for the ninth time this season, and contributed seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in just 26 minutes of play. His impressive 10-of-14 shooting from the field was a key factor in Fresno State’s success, as the team improved its record to 10-17 (6-10 Mountain West). That’s HOT!

The FresYes Explorer

Your mission this week is stay healthy and stay warm.

Let’s start with a good cup of coffee – no! Let’s make that a GREAT Cup of Coffee!

We asked you where the best cup of Joe was and you responded! We started with the Top 10 Best Places to get a Cup of Coffee and then you added to that and voted in the poll. There was a big push in social media and Clash Coffee & Boba somehow convinced more of their patrons to vote than any other place. You can find them at 21 E Shaw Ave Fresno, CA 93710. The popular drink here seems to be the “Mount Caramel” in either iced or hot format, but who would do “iced” right now? It’s family owned as well and you know how much we like that!

Man can’t live on coffee alone. When the weather hits like it is, we get hungry. And when we get hungry we start thinking about Pho. We did a post all about the Best Phở in Fresno and we found out there’s a crazy amount of crazy good Pho out there. It seems you are pretty passionate about your Pho too! In our poll, Huong Lan is currently on top of the rankings so the popular vote would suggest that you go there and order a large bowl for yourself.

Find them at 4965 N Fresno St Fresno, CA 93726

But we know that you have your favorite, too. Just in case, here’s that link again to our Pho Poll and Pho Map so you can find a new place or help others find the best!

Head YES man at FresYes.com
I grew up in Fresno. Relaxed in its calm breezes, listened with my dad to the crack of the bat at little league baseball games when I was a kid and now take my son to do the same at minor league games. I broadened my mind at its schools (I went to high school right here at San Joaquin Memorial, and to college at Fresno State!) I love that if I drive for two hours in one direction, I can be in the mountains. For two hours in another, luxuriating on a California beach. I can enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but still be able to come home to relaxation, calm, and quiet.

I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.

I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
