It’s no secret that Fresno is known for toasty summers, but thankfully, you don’t have to dig your own pool to find a great place to cool off in the water. The Fresno area offers multiple public swim locations, swimming lessons, water park and splash parks for families to enjoy.

Here you’ll find a summary of the different locations to choose from when deciding to take a dip.

Frank H. Ball Pool:
760 Mayor St. (Ventura & A St)
Monday through Sunday
1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Mary Ella Brown Pool:
1350 E. Annadale (Elm & Annadale)

1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Airways Pool:

High School Aquatic Complexes:

The following high schools have aquatics complexes and have previously been open to the public during summer for recreational swimming, swimming lessons or both. Not all complexes have posted updated information about hours and entrance fees, so I recommend calling before you go. Based on previous years, I believe it’s safe to assume the following schools will offer public swimming hours for reasonable rates:

Bullard High School (559) 451-4320

Fresno High School (559) 457-2780

Sunnyside High School (559) 253-6700

Central High School (559) 276-0280

Clovis North High School (559) 327-5000

Splash Parks:

There are three splash parks that are fixtures of larger, city parks in the Fresno area. Amenities include interactive water features, misters, and cascades providing refreshing water play for children at no cost.Water features typically operate between 9am and 8pm from mid-May through October.

Dickey Playground
50 N. Calaveras Street
Fresno, CA 93721

Figarden Loop Park
4265 W Figarden Drive
Fresno, CA 93722

Todd Beamer Park
9797 N. Maple Ave
Fresno, CA 93720

Water Parks (click links for detailed location/cost info):

The Island Waterpark

Ideal for those living closer to the West side of Fresno, The Island Waterpark  offers 11 water slides, a wave pool, children’s water play park and lazy river and abundant picnic areas. The park opens Memorial Day weekend each year and is open during weekdays when schools are out for the summer. You can save money buying tickets online in advance or utilizing popular deal site Retail Me Not.

Wild Water Adventures

For those living more Eastward or in Clovis, Wild Water Adventures offering more than 15 slides, a wave pool, children’s play area, abundant shade and even fishing is a great choice. Buy tickets online or in-person. There are a few deals available at PromoPro online for the park.

If you plan to go to either park more than twice this summer, season passes are $69.99 and a good deal for those wanting to make multiple trips.

Blackbeards

Blackbeards waterslides may not be as extravagant as The Island or Wild Water, however they are still a ton of fun and very affordable at just $8 per person for unlimited rides. (Of note: Due to the drought, Blackbeards will operate their slides only on the weekends this year)

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
