Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some fun suggestions for events happening in Fresno and beyond.

Don’t forget the benefit concert for Tokyo Garden, the Fresno Adult Prom, and The Nutcracker are all happening this weekend, as is the Children’s Musical Theaterworks production of Annie.

And of course, Swede Fest 17 is Sunday! Come by and see us at the Tower Theatre—as sponsors of the event, we promise a good time.

Downtown Fresno Holiday Market

Where: The Hashtag, 2125 Kern Street, in Fresno
When: 5 to 9 p.m. Friday 
What: Approximately 80 merchants from across the county selling merchandise during a themed shopping extravaganza, which includes a preview party, live bands, food trucks, cocktails, crafts and more!

In Search of Fellini, presented by Fresno Filmworks

Where: Tower Theatre
When: 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Friday 
What: Filmworks presents “In Search of Fellini,” a film that follows a young woman named Lucy on her journey to meet Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. 
Details: Advance tickets cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors, and they can be purchased by check or cash at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave. [More]

Zoo Lights

Where: Fresno Chaffee Zoo
When: 6 p.m. Friday 
What: For this annual event, the entire zoo is transformed into a magical, winter wonderland, fully decorated and strung with miles of holiday lights. Enjoy live entertainment, festive treats and beverages for adults and children, and free photos with Santa Claus.
Details: Tickets: Children 1 and under are free; members: $7 adults, $5 children (ages 2-11); non-Members: $9 adults, $7 children (ages 2-11). [More]

Cold Weather Cycling Basics

Where: Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
When: 6-7:30 p.m. Friday 
What: Join REI experts as they share tips and tricks that will keep you riding when the weather turns cold. Experienced cycling instructors will show you how to outfit you and your bike to handle inclement weather, dropping temperatures, and other challenges that traditionally keep cyclists out of the saddle.

Where: Root Access Hackerspace
When: 6-7 p.m. Friday 
What: The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. One-hour tutorials are available in over 45 languages. No experience needed. Ages 4 to 104. Learn new things, practice your skills, and be a part of something really big.

Film Screening: Christmas Vacation

Where: Crest Theatre
When: 8 p.m. Friday 
What: The Griswold family’s plans for a big family Christmas predictably turn into a big disaster.

The Dreamer Co-op: A Fresno Collective

Where: Lanna Coffee Co.
When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday 
What: This will be a collective of fine art, artisan jewelry, apparel, home decor, hand-lettered goods, a floral studio, a braid bar, local craft beer tasting and brew from Lanna Coffee Co.
Details: Proceeds of the event will be donated to the Art of Life Cancer foundation. This will be a family-friendly event with a craft for kids, photobooth and portrait projects with Hannah from The Intentionality Project. [More]

Santacon 2017

Where: Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
When: 2 p.m. Saturday 
What: Join Skippy and the New Rock Street Team and a horde of jolly Christmas characters for a favorite holiday tradition—Santacon! Live music and food trucks on site.

Fresno Adult Prom: A Moment Back In Time

Where: The Grand 1401
When: 6 p.m. Saturday 
What: Taking place in downtown Fresno, A Moment Back In Time will be a classy and elegant evening dedicated to Downtown Fresno, the Downtown Fresno Foundation, and to celebrate the newly reopened Fulton Street.

Star Wars Pub Crawl 2017

Where: Tower District
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday 
What: Come on down to the Tower District for the Star Wars Pub Crawl in celebration of Star Wars and the new movie. Meet-up will be in the BofA parking lot.

What: In the 1940s, a young boy named Ralphie attempts to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect Christmas gift.

Pancakes & Pajamas with Santa

Where: Common Space
When: 10 a.m. to noon Sunday 
What: Come dressed in your pajamas for a morning of pancakes, hot cocoa, cookies and other holiday goodies! Santa will also be here to meet the kids and for photos.
Details: A $5 contribution made to Common Space will get you into the event and access to the hot cocoa bar, or bring in travel-sized toiletries to benefit the “Kit’s Kits” homeless holiday collection. [More]

Handmade Sunday: Holiday Gift Village

Where: Gazebo Gardens Nursery
When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday 
What: Plants, gifts, art, food trucks, coffee and more.

Roaring Twenties Champagne Reception

Where: Fresno Historical Society, 7160 W. Kearney Blvd.
When: 1 p.m. Sunday 
What: Enjoy the sights and sounds of Kearney Mansion Museum decorated for the holidays. Period characters will bring to life Christmas as it was when they lived in the mansion in the 1920s. Enjoy live holiday music, champagne, appetizers, Christmas treats, our special hot Kearney Punch, and a self-guided tour.
