My dear reader, a couple of weeks ago I wrote about a wonderful breakfast restaurant that I was hesitant to share widely because, truth be told, I wanted to gatekeep it so I could still snag a weekend table. Alas, my desire to see local businesses thrive outweighed my selfishness, and my Branch article was published.
Now, I find myself at that same crossroad once again. I’ve discovered another truly fantastic, one-of-a-kind business I want to shout about from the rooftops — but I need you to promise me you won’t go and buy out everything I’d want. Deal?
Dear reader, you absolutely must check out Reclaimed Mt. Goods. It’s an incredible vintage home and clothing store where every single item is hand-curated to ensure an exceptional shopping experience. Not only is each piece carefully selected, but every clothing item is cleaned, steamed, and even repaired if needed to ensure both sustainability and quality.

Reclaimed Mt. Goods is located at 11180 CA-41 Suite 101A in Madera, just eight minutes north of Fresno’s River Park Shopping Center. It’s right off the freeway and super easy to access, though it’s tucked inside a business park — so keep an eye out for their colorful sign featuring a Yosemite Half Dome logo. The shop is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., making it the perfect weekend outing. I promise you, it’s absolutely worth the short drive.

When you walk inside, you’ll first see gorgeous vintage furniture — tables and chairs set up so you can relax, chat, and hang out while sipping a delicious Filipino coffee or matcha from the in-store café, Hapa California (both businesses are Filipino- and woman-owned). Signs encourage you to stay awhile, and free Wi-Fi is available for customers, too. The store’s owner is incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. Shop there twice, and she’ll remember you, quickly getting a sense of your taste before you can even describe it yourself.

As you explore further, you’ll find racks of “new” clothing arrivals, shelves full of fun, beautiful, and quirky home décor items, and a back room featuring clothing from a variety of carefully selected clothing vendors. There’s a dressing room downstairs (just one, so be prepared to wait a bit on weekends or busy days) and a separate room filled with shoes, lighting, and additional décor treasures.

Upstairs, a loft area features selections from more than ten additional vendors, plus a cool bird’s-eye view of the shop below. On my first visit, I spent two full hours browsing and chatting with a friend over coffee, there was just so much to see, it felt like there was a new treasure around every corner.

Beyond shopping and sipping, Reclaimed Mt. Goods regularly hosts community events such as Clothing Swap Saturdays and free junk journaling sessions. They often bring in local food trucks, too, making each visit a fun outing.
Be sure to follow the shop’s Instagram to stay updated on upcoming events, new arrivals, and special pricing days (they even offer discounts for teachers and first responders).
I’ve visited quite a few vintage shops in recent years, both near and far, but none compare to Reclaimed Mt. Goods in terms of selection, community, and heart. It’s such a special place, and I truly hope you’ll check it out soon — just promise to leave a few finds for me, okay?
