Veronica Stumpf is THAT girl. You know. The girl who writes THAT Fresno blog. A Fresno native whose family’s roots in the community go way, way back, Veronica wants people to know that her hometown is more than a pit-stop.
And she’s part of a growing movement to improve the city’s image from the inside out. It’s gotta start with the people who live here, right? Veronica’s mission is much like that here at FresYes, albeit with a hip, downtown vibe. Sure, it might seem like Veronica is a FresYes competitor, but it’s just the opposite. We’re all on “Team Fresno,” and we’re always looking for more players.
During the interview, I put Veronica on the spot and asked her what she would include in a love letter to the city if she were to write one. She called the idea cheesy (which it was, I admit), but here’s what she was able to come up with in between bursts of laughter.
Dear Fresno,
I think you have a lot of history…and I love history. You have a lot of charm. Not everybody appreciates you, but I like your quirkiness.
And you’re inexpensive, too. You’re not high-maintenance, I appreciate that. I can afford your company.
