5 Grizzlies Game Fun For Kids

One of the best features about living in Fresno is the fact that we have a minor league baseball team-the Fresno Grizzlies. I’ve been going to the Grizzlies games for years, and even though we may not always win, the games have always been fun. Watching a Grizzlies game is great fun for families, single people, those on a date, couples, teens…Pretty much for anyone who likes to watch baseball. Some of the best fun I’ve had at a Grizzlies game is interacting with those around me, people watching, and chatting with whomever I’m with.

Having said all that, there was a time when I stopped going to watch the Grizzlies play. Once my daughter was at the age where all she wanted to do was NOT sit in her seat, everything changed. When I started to spend more time walking the stadium with my daughter than actually watching the game, I knew it was time to take a break. That is, until I had my son. He actually likes watching baseball games. During the first game we went to this year my son was following along, and asking a lot of questions. He was engaged, and seemed to really enjoy the game. We then went another time, and I was able to experience the ball game through different eyes, that is, through the eyes of a child.

Turns out watching the Grizzlies play can be a lot of fun with the kids!

With that, I’d like to share 5 ways to have fun at the ballpark with your children.

1. The Food!

There are so many options for kiddos! I have picky eaters, and even both of my kids can find something yummy to eat. Some of our favorites? Dippin Dots, Kona Ice, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Nachos, Garlic Fries…I’m getting hungry just thinking about these!

2. The Slides/Carousel

If you want, you can buy a wristband and allow your kiddos to go down the slide or on the carousel as often as they’d like. Or, you can buy a ticket for $1.00 for each trip down the slide. It’s the same price for the carousel.

3. Running the Bases

If you happen to go to a game on a Sunday, when the game is over, the kids can run the bases. My daughter did this once and she thought it was fun. Imagine, being able to run on a field where real baseball players play? To kids, that’s just awesome. If you don’t go on a Sunday, then the kids can go down by the field and talk to the players. We once sat in the area where the new pitcher practices, and kids were going over there to say hi all the time. How cool is that?!

4. Fireworks!

Every Friday night there are fireworks!!! I mean really, who doesn’t love a good firework show?

5. Fun with Parker

Parker is such a fun mascot! He keeps the kids of every age entertained.

I know we here at FresYes have covered many posts about the Grizzlies, but I wanted to share this with those of you who may be unsure of taking your children to a baseball game. It can be a lot of fun for the whole family! So, if you haven’t gone this season, there is still a lot of time. There are days when they have deals, or giveaways. Check out the site and schedule to find a good day to go. Most of all though, have fun, and eat some yummy food!

Who is FresYes?

Fresyes.com was started by me, Jason Farris. Yes, I'm in real estate. I think that real estate is so much more than buying and selling homes. It's all about the lifestyle, it's about community. Here in the Fresno / Clovis area we have such a wonderful sense of community. I wanted a place that best reflects the people, the places and the lifestyle that we call home. Fresyes.com is that place. We have fabulous authors who share what makes this community of ours so special. I also write here, and not always about real estate. You can find all my posts HERE
